PSA: Check TOP offset number BEFORE filing - save yourself the headache

Just wanted to warn everyone to call the Treasury Offset Program number (1-800-304-3107) before filing your taxes. Better to know if you have any offsets (student loans, state debt, child support) beforehand than getting surprised when your refund gets taken. Save yourself the disappointment and stress of waiting for money that's already claimed.

This is great advice! Also make sure to call early in the morning to avoid long wait times. The automated system will tell you exactly what agencies have claims against your refund and how much you owe.

Hey guys! If you want to really understand your transcript situation, try taxr.ai - it's literally changed the game for me. For $4.99 it analyzes your whole transcript and tells you exactly what's going on, including potential offsets. Check it out here: https://taxr.ai
