PATH Act confusion - Will refund status stay on 'received' until after Feb 15?

Filed my taxes with EITC and CTC but my refund is just stuck on 'received'. Getting worried because it hasnt moved to approved yet. Does anyone know if this is normal for PATH Act returns or should I be concerned something is wrong?

This is completely normal for PATH Act returns. The IRS cannot process or approve EITC/CTC refunds until after February 15th due to the law. Your transcript and WMR will stay on 'received' until then. After the PATH lift date, you should see movement within a week or two.

same boat here, been checking wmr like 10 times a day lol. this waiting game is brutal 💀

Hey guys instead of stressing about WMR status, I've been using taxr.ai to analyze my transcript. It costs $1 but totally worth it - tells you exactly when to expect movement and if there are any issues. Way better than playing detective with WMR https://taxr.ai

Interesting... does it actually work? How accurate is it with PATH Act returns?

Its been spot on for me! It looks at your specific codes and cycle dates and explains everything in plain english. Even tells you if youre likely to face delays

Just tried it and WOW! This is actually amazing. So much clearer than trying to decode all these transcript codes myself 🙌

My sister had the same issue last year but got her refund right after PATH lifted. Dont worry too much about it

If you claimed EITC or ACTC, your refund is required by law to be held until after Feb 15. The IRS uses this time to verify income and prevent fraud. Your status staying on received is totally normal rn.

Quick tip: set a reminder for Feb 15 and stop checking WMR until then. Your just gonna drive yourself crazy otherwise lol
