PATH Act and TurboTax early deposit fee - worth it?
I paid extra for the 5-day early deposit feature on TurboTax but I'm claiming EITC which puts me under PATH Act. Did I just waste my money?

Tax pro here - Unfortunately, the 5-day early deposit won't help with PATH Act delays. The PATH Act prevents the IRS from releasing EITC refunds before mid-February, regardless of when you file. You might want to request a refund for that fee from TurboTax since it won't benefit you.

Hey! If you want to really understand your refund timeline, check out taxr.ai - it analyzes your transcript and tells you exactly what's going on with PATH and other holds. Its $4.99 but totally worth it for the peace of mind. https://taxr.ai

•100% works! It caught a delay on my transcript that even my tax guy missed. Saved me weeks of wondering

Contact TurboTax support. Sometimes theyll refund these fees if you explain the situation. Worth a shot!

Your in the PATH act boat with the rest of us 😩 That early deposit feature is useless until after the IRS actually releases the funds
