Need Help: IRS Transcript Shows Feb Filing with Refund Freeze Code 810 and Mysterious Amended Return I Never Filed

Filed back in February and still haven't gotten my refund. Looking at my transcript but its like reading another language. I'm going to paste it below. Anyone here good at reading these things? Getting really frustrated with the waiting game and could use some help figuring out whats going on. ACCOUNT BALANCE: ACCRUED INTEREST: AS OF: Nov. 26, 2024 ACCRUED PENALTY: AS OF: Nov. 26, 2024 ACCOUNT BALANCE PLUS ACCRUALS (this is not a payoff amount): THE RETURN OR AS ADJUSTED.. EXEMPTIONS: FILING STATUS: ADJUSTED GROSS INCOME: TAXABLE INCOME: TAX PER RETURN: SE TAXABLE INCOME TAXPAYER: SE TAXABLE INCOME SPOUSE: TOTAL SELF EMPLOYMENT TAX: RETURN DUE DATE OR RETURN RECEIVED DATE (WHICHEVER IS LATER) Apr. 15, 2024 PROCESSING DATE Apr. 01, 2024 TRANSACTIONS CODE EXPLANATION OF TRANSACTION | CYCLE | DATE | AMOUNT 150 Tax return filed | 20241105 | 04-01-2024 | $3,448.00 70221-429-38191-4 810 Refund freeze | 02-08-2024 | $0.00 766 Credit to your account | 04-15-2024 | 766 Credit to your account | 04-15-2024 | 768 Earned income credit | 04-16-2024 | 971 Amended tax return or claim | 04-22-2024 | $0.00 forwarded for processing 977 Amended return filed | 04-22-2024 | $0.00 43277-516-08945-4 290 Additional tax assessed | 20243405 | 09-09-2024 | $0.00 33254-633-05207-4 I filed in February, and my processing date shows April 1st. I see there's a "Refund freeze" code 810 from February 8th, and then I have some credits and earned income credit listed for mid-April. But I also see I apparently filed an amended return on April 22nd (code 977)? I don't remember filing an amendment. Then there's something about "Additional tax assessed" from September. What does all this mean? Why is my refund still not here in November when I filed in February? Is it because of this freeze code? And why would there be an amended return when I didn't file one? The waiting is driving me crazy, especially since I was counting on that money.

Hey there! Let me help decode your transcript situation. With all the different codes and dates on IRS transcripts, it can feel like trying to read hieroglyphics 😅 I'd highly recommend checking out taxr.ai (https://taxr.ai) - it's basically like having a tax pro in your pocket. You upload your transcript and it breaks down everything in plain English, tells you exactly where your refund stands, and even predicts when you'll get paid. Way better than trying to piece it together yourself or waiting on hold with the IRS for hours.

it analyzes literally everything - transcripts, w2s, 1040s, even those confusing irs letters. gives you the full breakdown of whats happening with your money and how to fix any holdups

Just used taxr.ai and here's what I got back: The AI found my refund is actually on hold bc of a math error on line 28. Says I need to fax a corrected form to the specific department to release it. Would have never figured that out on my own fr fr 💯

I've been reading transcripts for years - happy to help! But without seeing your specific codes and dates, it's hard to give exact advice. The most common holdup right now is verification issues or income matching problems. What codes are you seeing on your account?

Thanks! tbh I'm not even sure which numbers are the important ones to look at 😅

No worries! Look for any codes that start with 570 or 971 - those usually indicate why there's a delay

Have you tried taxr.ai? It's this new tool that basically translates your transcript into plain English. costs like $5 but saved me hours of googling and guessing. It tells you exactly whats happening and when to expect your money https://taxr.ai

Super legit! They don't store your data and the analysis is instant. Better than waiting on hold with IRS for 3 hours 🙄

Check your mailbox regularly. Sometimes they send letters requesting additional info but don't update the transcript right away.
