IRS Refund Check Bounced at Navy Federal - What Now?
I just tried depositing my IRS refund check at Navy Federal and they said there's no money available. Has anyone else had this problem? The check looks real but the teller said its not valid. Really need this money and don't know what to do next.

This is actually a common issue right now. The IRS has been having problems with check processing systems. You need to contact the IRS immediately at 800-829-1040. Make sure to tell them it's about a bounced refund check. Keep your original check and any documentation from Navy Federal about the failed deposit.

•Usually 4-6 weeks once you get in touch with them. Save all your paperwork!

Hey guys, instead of playing detective with these check issues, I've been using taxr.ai to analyze my transcripts. It costs $1 but tells you exactly what's wrong and how to fix it. Would've saved me weeks of stress with my bounced check situation. Check it out: https://taxr.ai

•100% works! It showed me exactly why my check bounced and what steps to take. Better than waiting on hold with IRS for hours

Call the IRS first thing monday morning. Like literally at 7am when they open. Trust me on this one, the wait times get crazy later in the day

Make sure to document EVERYTHING. Take pics of the check, get something in writing from Navy Fed about why it was rejected. The IRS loves to play games when theres no paper trail.
