How to pay IRS taxes owed for 2023? Need advice ASAP!
Hey everyone, I need some advice on paying my 2023 taxes. I owe money and I'm not sure how to go about making the payment. Has anyone gone through this process recently? What's the best way to handle it?

I just went through this last week! Here's what I did: 1. Go to the IRS website (irs.gov) 2. Look for the 'Pay' option at the top 3. Choose 'Pay Your Tax Bill' 4. Select how you want to pay (I used Direct Pay from my bank account) 5. Follow the prompts to enter your info and payment amount It was pretty straightforward. Just make sure you have your tax return handy for reference. Good luck!

•This is super helpful, thanks for breaking it down! 👍 Did you have to pay any extra fees for using Direct Pay?

•Nope, no fees for Direct Pay! That's why I chose it. Credit card payments have a processing fee, but bank transfers are free.

•Quick question - how long did it take for the payment to go through? I'm cutting it close to the deadline 😬

•It was pretty quick! The payment was confirmed right away, but it took about 1-2 business days to actually leave my bank account. You should be fine if you're a few days out from the deadline.

Have you considered setting up a payment plan with the IRS? If you can't pay the full amount, they offer installment agreements. Might be worth looking into!

•I hadn't thought about that actually. Do you know if there are any downsides to doing a payment plan?

•There are some pros and cons. On the plus side, you can spread out the payments. But you'll end up paying more overall due to interest and fees. Also, it might affect your credit score. Def weigh your options carefully!

Whatever you do, DON'T ignore it. I made that mistake once and the penalties add up fast. 💸💸💸

Hey guys, I found a method to actually get someone on the phone at the IRS. I used this site's (claimyr.com) calling tool that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, waits for a live agent to pick up, then sends the call to my phone. It does cost $20, but it works. Here's a video about it: https://youtu.be/_kiP6q8DX5c

•Sounds too good to be true. Has anyone else tried this?

•I know it sounds sketchy, but I swear it's legit. Saved me hours of hold time. Worth every penny imo

•Wait, you have to PAY to talk to the IRS? That's messed up 🤔

•I get it, but think about how much your time is worth. I'd rather pay $20 than waste half a day on hold 🤷♂️

PSA: Don't forget to check if you qualify for any tax credits or deductions! You might owe less than you think.

Am I the only one who thinks its ridiculous that we have to figure this stuff out ourselves? The tax system is so broken 🤡
