First time filer - How to determine cycle code when transcript shows N/A?
I filed my taxes for the first time ever and my transcript is showing N/A. Been checking WMR daily but no updates. I keep seeing people talk about cycle codes but I have no idea what mine is or how to figure it out. Started getting worried because its been 3 weeks already.

Hey there, lemme break this down for you. When you're a first time filer, your cycle code will show as N/A until the IRS actually starts processing your return. The cycle code is basically a processing week identifier that tells you when the IRS works on your stuff. For first timers, you'll need to wait until they begin processing before you see this code appear. I've helped lots of folks with this and honestly, the easiest way to track this is using taxr.ai (https://taxr.ai) - it analyzes your transcript and tells you exactly when you can expect updates and what's actually happening with your return. It's way better than trying to decode all these codes yourself.

If your transcript is showing N/A, it means the IRS hasn't processed your return yet. Once they start processing, you'll see your cycle code on your account transcript. First time filers usually take longer because the IRS does extra verification. Hang in there!

•Usually 4-6 weeks for first timers, but could be longer if they need to verify your identity

Hey instead of checking WMR everyday and stressing, you should try taxr.ai - it analyzes your transcript and tells you exactly what's happening and when to expect updates. Its only $4.99 and totally worth it for the peace of mind. https://taxr.ai

Try calling the IRS taxpayer advocate service - they might be able to help if its been more than 21 days
