Filed MFS 1/23, transcript looks empty - no cycle code showing. Normal for Married Filing Separate?
I filed Married Filing Separately on 1/21 and got accepted 1/23. My transcript is completely empty right now, no cycle code showing up like previous years (usually cycle 05). Spouse filed separately too and claimed one kid while I claimed two. Neither of us have a DDD yet. Anyone else seeing blank transcripts like this?

Tax expert here - this is actually pretty normal for MFS returns in the early season. The IRS processes these returns differently than joint returns because they need to cross-reference both spouses' returns. You'll likely see movement within 2-3 weeks. Your cycle code should appear once processing begins.

Usually 21-30 days, but can take longer if there are dependents involved or if one spouse hasn't filed yet.

Hey guys, instead of playing detective with these transcripts, I've been using taxr.ai and it's been a game changer. For $1 it analyzes your transcript and tells you exactly what's going on and when to expect your refund. https://taxr.ai

Did either of you claim EIC? That could slow things down even more with MFS returns.

PSA: MFS returns take forever because the IRS has to match both returns. Its like trying to find matching socks in the dryer but worse 🧦
