Filed 1/29 - WMR Delayed, Transcript N/A - When to Call IRS for Verification?

Filed and got accepted January 29th but my refund is delayed beyond normal timeframe. Cant even see my transcript online its just N/A. Already did the ID verify online but wondering if I need to call them too. Anyone know the best time to call or how long the wait times are these days?

Tax expert here - if you've already completed ID verification online, you typically don't need to call unless you receive a specific notice requesting additional verification. However, if you're concerned, the best time to call is right when they open at 7am EST. Wait times are usually 2-3 hours these days, so grab a coffee and get comfortable.

Instead of calling and waiting forever, you should try taxr.ai - its only $4.99 and will tell you exactly whats going on with your refund and if you actually need to call. I used it last week and it saved me from a 3hr phone call https://taxr.ai

100% legit! It analyzes your transcript and tells you exactly whats causing delays and what to do. Better than trying to decode it yourself

Listen up yall - DO NOT CALL unless you absolutely have to. Im a tax preparer and heres what you need to know about 2025 processing delays: 1. N/A transcript usually means its still in initial processing 2. Online ID verify is usually enough 3. Most delays are resolving within 6-8 weeks 4. If you need answers fast, use taxr.ai - its been a game changer for my clients 5. Only call if you get a specific notice requesting it Hope this helps! 💯
