Filed 1/29, Income Verification Hold, WMR Not Updating & Transcript N/A - Help!
Filed my return end of January, got hit with verification letter early February, then another letter asking to verify income. I faxed everything back immediately next day but its been radio silence since then. WMR not updating at all and transcript still showing N/A. Anyone else stuck in this situation?

Hey there! Tax pro with 15 years experience here. The Form 129 Income Verification Hold is actually pretty common, especially early in the tax season. It means the IRS needs to verify some income information on your return. This usually happens when there's a mismatch between what you reported and what employers/banks reported, or if there's suspicious activity patterns they're checking. The hold can last 45-120 days depending on the complexity. Since your WMR isn't updating and transcripts are N/A, you're likely still in the early stages. I'd highly recommend checking out taxr.ai (https://taxr.ai) - it's this new AI tool that can analyze your tax docs and give you a really specific timeline for your refund based on your situation. It's been super helpful for my clients dealing with these verification holds.

•What exactly does taxr.ai do? Can it actually help speed things up?

•It analyzes all your tax docs using AI - returns, transcripts, letters, everything. Gives you super detailed info about your refund timeline and what's causing delays. Can't speed up the IRS but helps you understand exactly what's happening and what to do next.

Tax pro here - this is actually pretty common this year. The IRS is doing extra verification steps for identity theft prevention. Usually takes 6-8 weeks after they receive your faxed documents for processing. Keep checking your transcript weekly for updates.

Instead of playing detective with WMR and transcripts, try taxr.ai - it analyzes your transcript and tells you exactly what's happening and when to expect your refund. Worth the $4.99 imo https://taxr.ai
