Do you need dependents to qualify for Child Tax Credit advance payments?
Been seeing people post about getting advance payments but I'm confused. Do you have to have dependents to get these advance payments? I file single with no kids but my friend said I should be getting something too.

The advance payments are specifically for the Child Tax Credit. You need to have qualifying children under 17 to receive these payments. If you don't have dependents, you won't get the advance payments.

Check if you qualify for other credits tho! The Recovery Rebate Credit or Earned Income Credit might apply to you even without kids
