Any Jan 30th Filers Still Showing 'No Return Filed Yet'? TurboTax No Confirmation Either
I filed on January 30th, which was probably, in hindsight, a bit early in the season. I'm somewhat concerned because my return is still showing "no return filed yet" when I check my account. I've also noticed that TurboTax hasn't sent me any confirmation email about my return being accepted by the IRS. I'm wondering if any other January 30th filers are experiencing similar delays? It would be helpful, I think, to get a sense of whether this is a widespread issue or if I should perhaps be more concerned about my specific situation. If you filed on or around January 30th, could you possibly share your current status? Thank you in advance for any insights.

I filed on January 31st and was in the same boat for almost 3 weeks. My return finally updated to "processing" on February 21st. Last year I filed on February 2nd and got accepted within 3 days, so this year definitely seems slower. Check your TurboTax account online - sometimes the email gets lost but the status shows up in your account. Also, the IRS systems are notoriously overloaded in the first few weeks of tax season, especially with the new child tax credit changes this year.

•This delay is like trying to get through a traffic jam during rush hour - everyone's hitting the system at once. The IRS processing pipeline has several checkpoints, and returns filed in the first wave often get backed up at the first verification stage. They prioritize by filing date, but it's more like a funnel than a straight line.

•Thanks for sharing this timeline. I filed on January 29th and just got my acceptance notification on February 20th. It's reassuring to hear others experienced similar delays during this period.

•This helped me stop panicking. Filed Jan 30th and still nothing. Called TurboTax and they said it was transmitted but couldn't tell me anything else. IRS needs to fix their systems.

Is there any chance you claimed credits like the Earned Income Credit or Additional Child Tax Credit? Those returns get automatically held for additional review under the PATH Act. Last year my sister filed on January 15th with EIC and didn't see any movement until February 28th, while I filed a simple return on February 1st and got my refund by Valentine's Day. Might explain the difference if some Jan 30th filers are seeing updates while others aren't.

•I believe you might be onto something here. I claimed the Child Tax Credit this year and my return seems to be taking longer than usual to process. It's somewhat reassuring to know this might be standard procedure rather than an issue with my specific filing.

•Yep that's prob it. I've got EITC and CTC on mine and WMR still says processing. My sis filed same day w/o credits and already got her $$. Happens every yr tbh.

Oh my goodness, I'm so glad I found this post! I filed on January 30th too and have been so worried! The IRS Where's My Refund tool still shows nothing for me, and I've been checking every single day. From what I understand, the IRS is dealing with a huge backlog this year. They started accepting returns on January 29th, but that doesn't mean they started processing them all immediately. I called TurboTax yesterday and they confirmed my return was transmitted successfully, so now it's just a waiting game. Hang in there! 💕

I experienced exactly this situation with my January 30 submission. After 21 days with no status update on the WMR portal or transcript availability, I attempted to contact the IRS directly. After 4 failed attempts (average hold time 2+ hours before disconnection), I utilized Claimyr (https://youtu.be/_kiP6q8DX5c) to secure a position in the IRS queue. Connected with an agent in 37 minutes who confirmed my return was in the system but flagged for manual review due to a processing backlog. No action required on my part - simply needed to wait. Transcript appeared 4 days later showing processing had begun.

•But doesn't using a third-party service like this expose your personal information? How can we be sure it's secure when dealing with sensitive tax matters? The timing seems convenient but couldn't this just be coincidental with normal IRS processing?

•How exactly does this service work? Do they just keep calling on your behalf or do they have some special access to the IRS? I'm hesitant to try something like this if there's no guarantee it will help.

•Wait, there are services that can actually get you through to the IRS? I had no idea! Do you have to pay for this? And did the IRS agent seem annoyed that you used a service instead of waiting on hold yourself?

Is anyone else wondering if there's something more going on with the January 30th returns specifically? Could it be that the first batch of returns is getting extra scrutiny this year? Or maybe the system was overloaded since it was just the second day of filing season? I filed on February 7th and already received my refund, so it seems odd that earlier filers are still waiting. Has the IRS made any official statements about delays for early filers?

I filed exactly on January 30th at 8:42pm and was accepted on February 22nd - exactly 23 days later. Got my refund direct deposited 6 days after that. Last year I filed on February 3rd and waited 31 days for acceptance. The system is definitely running better this year despite what others are saying. Just hang in there - your return is probably just in the verification queue with thousands of others from the same filing date.

I filed on Jan 30th and just got movement yesterday. Here's what I experienced: • Filed via TurboTax on Jan 30th • No email confirmation (checked spam folder) • WMR showed "Return Not Found" for 3 weeks • Transcript unavailable until yesterday • Called TurboTax support on day 15 - they confirmed submission • IRS account now shows "processing" status • Expected refund date is now showing March 8th The TurboTax rep mentioned they've had issues with confirmation emails for returns filed Jan 29-31. Something about their notification system getting overwhelmed with the opening rush.

Filed January 30th. No updates. Checked transcript. Nothing. Called IRS. On hold forever. Finally got through. They said wait. Still waiting. Day 24 now. Getting worried. Need this refund soon. Mortgage payment coming up.

According to the IRS website at https://www.irs.gov/refunds, most refunds are issued within 21 days of acceptance. However, my experience with January 30th filing this year was much different. I received no confirmation email from TurboTax initially, but when I logged into my TurboTax account and checked my filing status, it showed my return was accepted on February 2nd. My transcript became available on February 18th, and my refund was deposited on February 25th. If you haven't already, I recommend checking your account online rather than waiting for an email, and also requesting your tax transcript online which often updates before WMR does.

•I'm impressed with your detailed tracking. Is requesting a tax transcript something anyone can do? I've been trying to check my status through the IRS2Go app as per Publication 5348, but it keeps showing the same message for weeks now.
