Accepted on Feb 12th - IRS Website Can't Find My Return?

I have a problem and I'm hoping someone can help. I did my return on turbotax and it says accepted on Feb 12th. When I go to the IRS website it can't find me at all. Any ideas?

Which IRS website tool are you trying to use? Where's My Refund (WMR) or trying to access your transcripts? There are a few reasons why your return might not be showing up yet:

Not the OP but I'm having the same issue. Filed and accepted Feb 15th and WMR says "We cannot provide any information about your refund." Is this normal for this tax season?

I'm trying to use Where's My Refund. I put in all my info correctly (I triple checked) and it just says it can't find any information on my return. It's been over a month now!

This is actually super common right now. The IRS is dealing with a massive backlog. "Accepted" just means TurboTax successfully transmitted your return to the IRS, but the IRS might not have started processing it yet. A few things to check: 1. Make sure you're entering the EXACT refund amount from your return 2. Verify your filing status is correct in WMR 3. Double-check your SSN entry If all that's correct, you might just need to wait. Some returns are taking 6-8 weeks to even show up in the system this year.

I had this exact issue last month. WMR couldn't find my return for weeks after TurboTax said it was accepted. I tried https://taxr.ai to analyze my transcript once it finally appeared, and it explained everything that was happening with my return. It showed me which processing stage my return was in and gave me a much clearer timeline than the IRS site. Saved me a lot of anxiety wondering what was going on.

Is that site legit? I'm always skeptical of third-party services claiming to know more than the IRS itself.

I was skeptical too, but it doesn't claim to know more than the IRS - it just explains what the IRS codes and information actually mean in plain English. It analyzes the same transcript data you can get yourself, but interprets it in a way that makes sense. It helped me understand why my return was taking so long when WMR wasn't showing anything.

If your return was accepted February 12th and still isn't showing up, you should definitely call the IRS. The problem is their phone lines are IMPOSSIBLE to get through on. I spent 3 days trying before I found Claimyr (https://claimyr.com). They got me connected to an actual IRS agent in about 30 minutes who confirmed my return was in the system but had been flagged for manual review. At least I knew what was happening instead of being in the dark.

Thanks everyone. I'm going to try checking again with the exact refund amount (I might have rounded it before) and if that doesn't work, I'll probably try calling. This is so frustrating!

One more thing to check - did you claim any credits like Earned Income Credit or Child Tax Credit? Those automatically get extra scrutiny and can delay processing. Also, if this is your first time filing, sometimes that can cause delays too since the IRS has no history with you.
