2025 IRS Paper Check Refund Timeline - How Long Does it Really Take?

Filed my taxes electronically and chose paper check instead of direct deposit. Its been 3 weeks since my transcript updated to refund approved. Anyone know the actual timeline for getting a paper check in the mail? The WMR tool just says approved but no other info.

Once your transcript shows refund approved, paper checks typically take 5-7 business days to arrive in the mail. Keep in mind USPS delivery times vary by location. If you don't receive it within 2 weeks of approval, call the IRS to verify the mailing address they have on file.
