Need EDD representative number - tired of getting automated system every time I call
I keep calling the main EDD line but I can never get to an actual representative. All I get is the automated system that loops me around in circles. Does anyone have a direct EDD representative number that bypasses all the menu options? I've been trying to reach someone for weeks about my claim being stuck in pending status and I'm running out of patience.

There's no separate EDD representative number unfortunately. The main line 800-300-5616 is the only way to reach them. The trick is getting through their phone menu without hanging up on you.

•That's what I was afraid of. I've called that number probably 50 times and either get busy signal or stuck in the automated menu maze.

•Same here, that main number is all we have. The automated system is designed to filter out most calls before you even get to hold.

The 833-978-0953 number goes to the exact same place as 800-300-5616. Don't let anyone tell you there's a secret EDD representative number because there isn't one.

•This is correct. I wasted days trying different numbers I found online but they all route to the same overwhelmed call center.

•Good to know, I was about to start trying random numbers I found on Reddit.

I was in your exact situation last month - calling constantly trying to find a direct EDD representative number. Finally gave up on manual calling and used Claimyr. Got connected to an actual rep in about 20 minutes instead of spending days redialing.

•What's Claimyr? Is that some kind of calling service?

Zainab Ali
•Yeah, it's at claimyr.com - they dial for you automatically and call you back when they get a rep on the line. Costs money but saved me literally days of calling.

•I've heard of this too. My coworker used it and got through same day after weeks of trying herself.

The pattern to reach a representative is: call 800-300-5616, press 1 for English, wait exactly 1 minute 10 seconds, then press 1-1-***. But expect to redial 30-80 times before it works.

•How do you know to wait exactly 1 minute 10 seconds? That's oddly specific.

•Trial and error over dozens of calls. If you press the buttons too early it hangs up, too late and you miss the window. Timing is everything with their system.

•This person knows what they're talking about. That timing is crucial - I learned this the hard way after 100+ failed attempts.

Best times to reach an EDD representative: Wednesday-Thursday 2-4pm. Avoid Mondays completely and never call during their lunch break from 12-1:30pm.

NightOwl42
•They take a lunch break? The whole call center shuts down?
0 coins
Dmitry Ivanov
•Yep, entire center goes dark from noon to 1:30. I wasted so many hours calling during lunch before figuring this out.

•This is 100% accurate. You'll never get through during lunch no matter how many times you call.

I start calling at 7:55am every morning. Set my alarm early, make coffee the night before, and hit redial constantly until 8am when they open. Sometimes get through by 8:30am.

•That's dedication. Do you really have to start calling before they even open?

Miguel Herrera
•The lines jam up instantly at 8am. Starting early means you're in queue when they flip the switch. Still takes 20-40 redials though.

Even when you do reach an EDD representative, about 30-50% of calls drop during the hold period. I've waited 2 hours on hold only to get disconnected right before talking to someone.

•Are you serious? They drop calls after you've already waited on hold for hours?

•It's their phone system, not intentional. But yes, happens constantly. Most frustrating thing ever.

•This happened to me 3 times last week. Two hour holds that just end in dial tone. Their system is completely broken.

Stop looking for a magic EDD representative number - it doesn't exist. The specialist lines they used to have during COVID are gone. It's just the main overwhelmed line now.

•So all those posts about special numbers are fake?

StarGazer101
•Outdated or scams. I fell for several 'secret numbers' that either don't work or charge premium rates.

•Exactly why I switched to using Claimyr instead of chasing phantom numbers. At least I know it actually works.

Your best bet is calling Wednesday at 2pm. I track my success rate and that time slot works about 40% of the time versus 5% on Monday mornings.

NightOwl42
•You actually track success rates? That's next level.

Ava Thompson
•Had to do something with all my failed attempts. Turned it into data to find patterns. Wednesday afternoons definitely have higher success rates.

I burned through my phone plan minutes calling EDD so much. Had to switch to unlimited just to keep trying to reach a representative. The financial cost adds up quickly.

NightOwl42
•I didn't even think about phone bill costs. How many minutes did you use?
0 coins
Sofia Rodriguez
•Over 800 minutes in one week just on EDD calls. Most were busy signals but it still counts against your plan.

•Use WiFi calling if your carrier supports it. Saves minutes and sometimes has better connection quality.

Update on Claimyr - used it again this week for a different issue and got connected in 15 minutes. Way better than spending entire days redialing the EDD representative number manually.

•Is it expensive? I'm already strapped for cash with my claim being delayed.

•It's like $20-30 but think about the time value. I was losing full workdays trying to call manually. Worth every penny in my situation.

•They have a demo video at https://youtu.be/JmuwXR7HA10 that shows exactly how it works if you want to check it out first.

Friday afternoons are completely pointless for reaching EDD representatives. Even if you get through, they can't resolve anything before the weekend so you're stuck waiting until Monday anyway.
0 coins
NightOwl42
•Good point, I never thought about the timing of actually resolving issues.
0 coins
Miguel Herrera
•Exactly. Better to focus your calling efforts early in the week when they have time to actually help you.

The most frustrating part about needing an EDD representative number is that your issue might be simple but you can't get anyone to help. My problem took 5 minutes to fix once I finally reached someone.

•That's exactly my situation. I just need someone to look at my account but can't get through to anyone.

Connor Murphy
•Same here. Weeks of calling for what ended up being a quick account update. The system is completely backwards.

•This is why I don't feel bad about using calling services. The problem isn't complex, it's just access to a human.

Pro tip: If you're going to manually dial the EDD representative number, press the menu buttons before the prompts finish playing. Can save 30 seconds per call attempt.
0 coins
NightOwl42
•Does that actually work or does it mess up the call?
0 coins
Yara Nassar
•Works perfectly. Their system recognizes the input immediately. Those 30 seconds add up when you're making 50+ attempts.

Ava Thompson
•I do this too. Just don't press too early or it rejects the call entirely. Takes practice to get the timing right.

After 200+ attempts to reach an EDD representative over two weeks, I finally broke down and paid for Claimyr. Got through in 25 minutes. Should have done it week one and saved myself the stress.

•200 attempts? That's insane. I'm at maybe 50 and already losing my mind.

•I was keeping count in a notebook. Became obsessed with the challenge. Claimyr ended the madness quickly.

•I was the same way. Pride kept me from paying for help but the time cost was way more than the service fee.

Don't waste time after 4pm trying to reach EDD representatives. They seem to stop taking new calls even though their hours say 5pm. Learned this after dozens of failed late afternoon attempts.
0 coins
NightOwl42
•So their posted hours aren't accurate?
0 coins
StarGazer101
•Technically they're open until 5 but good luck getting through after 4. They probably stop accepting new calls to handle existing queue.

The reality is there's only one EDD representative number and it's completely overwhelmed. Until they fix their phone system, you either spend days calling manually or pay someone to call for you.

•This whole thread has been eye-opening. I had no idea how broken their system really is.

Ava Thompson
•Most people don't realize until they actually need to call. Then you discover what everyone dealing with EDD already knows - it's nearly impossible.

Zainab Ali
•Which is exactly why services like Claimyr exist. The manual process is so broken that automation becomes the only viable solution.
