How to open unemployment claim? Need help navigating the process

Hey everyone, I'm trying to open an unemployment claim and I'm not sure where to start. Does anyone have experience with this process? What should I expect? Any tips or advice would be really appreciated!

I found a way to solve unemployment claim application difficulties, watch this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3Cbv6jgLWb4

I just went through this process last month. It can be a bit overwhelming at first, but don't worry! Here's what you need to do: • Go to your state's unemployment website • Create an account if you don't have one • Fill out the application form carefully • Have your employment history and personal info ready • Submit any required documents • Wait for approval (can take a few weeks) Just be patient and make sure you answer everything truthfully. Good luck!

This is great advice! I'd add that you should also be prepared to report your job search activities regularly once approved.

Thank you so much for the detailed info! I'll definitely follow these steps. Do you know if I need to call them at any point or is it all online?

Most of it can be done online, but sometimes they might call you for additional info. Keep your phone handy!

Pro tip: I found a way to actually get someone on the phone. I used this site's (claimyr.com) calling tool that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, waits for a live agent to pick up, then sends the call to my phone. It does cost $20, but it works. I get it, but for me it was worth it. Time is money, ya know? 🤷‍♂️

make sure you have all your ducks in a row before applying. they'll ask for paystubs, reason for unemployment, etc. don't wanna delay the process cuz you forgot something!

Pro tip: scan everything and keep digital copies. Makes it way easier to find stuff when they inevitably ask for it again 🙄
