EDD gave wrong number for continued unemployment benefits, wants me to pay again. Help!
I'm so frustrated right now. I called the unemployment office to continue my benefits, but they gave me the wrong number and connected me to disability instead. Now they're saying I have to pay again to get the right number? This is ridiculous. Has anyone else dealt with this kind of mix-up? I just need them to input my information for continued benefits, not asking for anything new. Any advice on how to get through to the right department without paying extra?

I found a method that actually works to get someone on the phone. I used this site's (claimyr.com) calling tool that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, waits for a live agent to pick up, then sends the call to my phone. It does cost $20, but it works. Sure! You just put in your phone number on their website, and they call you back when they get an agent. No guarantee, but they keep trying until they get someone. Worked for me on the second attempt.

Depends on the state. In mine its one-party consent. But even if it is, they always say 'this call may be recorded' so that covers you lol
