EDD denied my claim despite auditor's decision in my favor. How to get them to fix their records?
I'm so frustrated with my unemployment situation. My first claim was denied, but an auditor made a decision in my favor. Now EDD needs to fix their records based on this decision, but I can't seem to get through to anyone who can help. Has anyone else dealt with this kind of issue? Any advice on how to get EDD to correct their records?

Ugh, I feel your pain. The EDD system is such a mess rn. I had a similar issue where they made a mistake on my claim and it took FOREVER to get it sorted out. Have you tried calling the appeals department directly?

I've been trying to call them for days but keep getting disconnected or put on hold forever. It's so frustrating!

Yeah, their phone system is a joke. Keep trying tho, eventually you'll get through. It took me like 50 calls before I finally got a human 🙄

Pro tip: call right when they open. I got through on my third try doing that.

I found a way to actually get someone on the phone. I used this site's (claimyr.com) calling tool that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, waits for a live agent to pick up, then sends the call to my phone. It does cost $20, but it works. Here's a video about it: https://youtu.be/Ize0EkN4HDI

Sounds too good to be true. Has anyone else tried this?

20 bucks? Thats kinda steep for something that should be free...

I know it sounds sketchy, but I swear it worked for me. Saved me hours of frustration. Worth every penny imo.

I used it too. Got through in like an hour when I'd been trying for weeks. Sometimes you gotta pay to play 🤷♂️

Here's what you need to do: 1. Document everything. Keep copies of all correspondence, including the auditor's decision. 2. Write a formal appeal letter explaining the situation and include copies of your documentation. 3. Send this via certified mail to the EDD Appeals Division. 4. Simultaneously, try to reach out to your local state representative's office. They often have liaisons who can help with EDD issues. 5. If you can get through on the phone, ask to speak with a tier 2 specialist. They have more authority to make changes. 6. Be persistent. Unfortunately, the system is overwhelmed, and it often takes multiple attempts to get resolution. 7. Consider filing a complaint with the state labor board if EDD continues to ignore the auditor's decision. Remember, you have the right to have your claim processed correctly. Don't give up!

I'm in the same boat, OP. Been waiting 3 months for them to correct an error on my claim. The whole system is broken af

Have you considered hiring an unemployment lawyer? They can sometimes cut through the red tape faster.

I hadn't thought of that. Do you know if they're expensive?

It can vary, but many offer free consultations. Might be worth looking into if you're really stuck.
