EDD appeal stuck in limbo - no progress for weeks. Help!
I'm having trouble with my EDD appeal and I'm not seeing any progress. I've been waiting for weeks and I don't know what to do next. Has anyone else dealt with this? Any advice on how to speed up the process or at least get some information about where my appeal stands?

Ugh, I feel you. I've been stuck in EDD appeal hell for months now. It's like shouting into a void. Have you tried calling them? That's the only way I've gotten any info, but it's a nightmare to get through.

I've tried calling but I can never get through. It's so frustrating. How long did it take you to finally reach someone?

Honestly, it took me days of constant redialing. I'd start calling right when they opened and just kept at it. It's a full-time job just trying to talk to someone š

Pro tip: call right at 8:01 AM. That's when I finally got through after weeks of trying!

I found a way to actually get someone on the phone. I used this site's (claimyr.com) calling tool that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, waits for a live agent to pick up, then sends the call to my phone. It does cost $20, but it works. Here's a video about it: https://youtu.be/Ize0EkN4HDI

Sounds too good to be true. Has anyone else tried this?

I'm skeptical. $20 just to make a phone call? š¤

I get the skepticism, but it seriously saved me weeks of frustration. Worth every penny IMO. They guarantee you get through or you don't pay.

Have you tried reaching out to your local assembly member's office? They can sometimes help push things along with EDD. It worked for me when I was stuck in limbo for months.

The EDD system is so broken, its not even funny anymore. I've been dealing with an appeal for 6 months now. SIX MONTHS! And still no resolution. This country is a joke when it comes to helping its citizens š¤®

Preach! š The whole system needs an overhaul. It's like they're stuck in the stone age or something.

Here's what I've learned from my EDD appeal experience: ā¢ Document EVERYTHING. Every call, every letter, every interaction. ā¢ Be persistent. Call regularly (use the trick others mentioned to get through). ā¢ Consider getting legal help. Some lawyers offer free consultations for EDD cases. ā¢ Check your online account daily for updates. ā¢ If you're really stuck, contact your local representatives. ā¢ Join Facebook groups for EDD claimants. They often have good tips. Hang in there, OP. It's a frustrating process, but keep pushing!

Thank you so much for this detailed advice! I'll definitely start documenting everything. Do you have any recommendations for those Facebook groups?

Sure thing! Try searching for 'California EDD Help' or 'EDD Unemployment Help' on FB. There are a few active ones with thousands of members. Good luck!

Have you checked if there's any missing information they need from you? Sometimes they don't tell you and your appeal just sits there. Happened to me - turns out they needed one more form š

Oh man, I hadn't even thought of that. How did you find out they needed more info?

I finally got through on the phone and the rep told me. Might be worth trying that claimyr thing someone mentioned above to get through quicker.
