Need to cancel SDI claim due to incorrect info - how to reach someone?

Hey everyone, I'm in a bit of a pickle. I filed for disability but I messed up and put some wrong info on the form. Now I need to cancel it and start over. Has anyone gone through this before? What's the best way to get in touch with someone at the disability office to fix this? I've been trying to call but no luck so far. Any advice would be super appreciated!

I found a way to solve disability form cancellation issues, watch this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-vVqyp2yjZY

Ugh, I feel your pain. The disability office is a nightmare to get through to. I spent weeks trying to reach someone when I had a similar issue. Have you tried faxing them? Sometimes that works better than calling.

Faxing? What year is it, 1995? 😂 But seriously, thanks for the tip. I'll give it a shot if I can't get through on the phone.

Lol faxing still works tho. Government offices are stuck in the stone age 🦕

I found a way to actually get someone on the phone. I used this site's (claimyr.com) calling tool that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, waits for a live agent to pick up, then sends the call to my phone. It does cost $20, but it works. Here's a video about it: https://youtu.be/DOLxZQb92wM

Sounds too good to be true. Has anyone else tried this?

20 bucks? Idk man, seems kinda steep just to make a phone call.

I get the skepticism, but it seriously saved me hours of frustration. Worth every penny imho.

Can you give more details about how it works? Do they garuantee you'll get through?

Yeah, so basically you choose the number you want to call on their website, pay the fee, and they start calling right away. They navigate the phone tree and wait on hold for you. When a real person picks up, they forward the call to your phone. No guarantee, but if they don't get through, you don't pay.

Have you tried going to the office in person? Sometimes face-to-face is the only way to get things done with these bureaucrats.

I've been down this road before, and let me tell you, it's not fun. But here's what worked for me: 1. Document everything. Write down dates, times, and names of anyone you talk to. 2. Be persistent. Call every day if you have to. 3. Try calling right when they open or just before they close. Sometimes it's easier to get through. 4. If all else fails, contact your local state representative. They can sometimes intervene on your behalf. 5. Check their website for any online options to cancel or modify your claim. Hang in there, OP. It's a frustrating process, but you'll get it sorted out eventually!

Wow, thanks for the detailed advice! I'll definitely try calling at different times. Didn't even think about contacting my state rep - that's a great idea if I get really stuck.

The whole system is broken af. I've been trying to sort out my claim for months. Good luck, OP. You're gonna need it. 🙄

Hey, quick question - how long ago did you file? If it's been less than 10 days, you might be able to cancel online without having to call anyone.

Oliver Zimmermann

Oh man, I wish I'd known that earlier. It's been about 3 weeks now. 😩

Ah, bummer. Yeah, after 10 days you gotta go through the whole song and dance with customer service. Hang in there!

This might sound crazy, but have you tried reaching out on social media? Sometimes tweeting at the official account can get their attention faster than traditional methods.

OP, whatever you do, DON'T give up. I almost did and it cost me big time. Keep pushing until you get it resolved!

Thanks for the encouragement. It's tempting to just throw in the towel sometimes, but I know I need to keep at it.
