FMLA Dept keeps transferring me to Unemployment. How to reach correct department?
Has anyone else had issues with getting calls from the wrong department? I filed for FMLA but keep getting calls from unemployment. It's so frustrating! I've tried multiple times to get through to the right people, but no luck. Any advice on how to actually reach the FMLA department?

Ugh, I feel your pain! The system is so messed up rn. I had the same issue last month - kept getting bounced around different depts. It's like they don't even know what they're doing 🤦♂️

Nah, I don't think it's intentional. They're just understaffed and overworked. Still sucks tho

Have you tried calling early in the morning? I had better luck getting through to the right department around 8:05 AM. Also, make sure you're using the correct phone number for FMLA specifically.

I found a method to get someone on the phone. I used this site's (claimyr.com) calling tool that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, waits for a live agent to pick up, then sends the call to my phone. It does cost $20, but it works. Here's a video explaining it: https://youtu.be/DOLxZQb92wM

I get the skepticism, but it seriously saved me hours of frustration. Worth every penny imo

Can you explain more about how it works? Do they give you a specific time for the callback?

Sure! You choose the dept you want to reach, pay, and they start calling right away. When an agent picks up, they connect you. No specific time, but way faster than doing it yourself

Here's what I've learned after dealing with this mess for months: 1. Be persistent. Keep calling, even if it's frustrating. 2. Document everything. Write down who you talked to, when, and what they said. 3. Try different times of day. Early morning or right before closing sometimes works better. 4. Use the online portal if possible. Sometimes it's easier to get responses there. 5. Reach out to your local representative. They can sometimes help push things through. 6. Join Facebook groups or forums specific to FMLA issues. You might find more targeted advice there. 7. If all else fails, consider hiring an advocate or attorney who specializes in FMLA cases. Hang in there, OP. The system is broken, but don't give up!

I'm in the same boat, been trying to sort out my FMLA for weeks now. It's like they're speaking a different language or something. Anyone know if there's a specific extension or prompt to use when calling to get to the right dept?

Try pressing 0 repeatedly as soon as the automated system picks up. Sometimes that'll get you to a human faster

This is why we need serious reform in our social services. It's ridiculous that people have to jump through so many hoops just to access the benefits they're entitled to. Vote, people!

Yeah but who's actually gonna fix it? Politicians only care about this stuff during election season 🙄
