Paycheck MIA - What to do when you haven't been paid?
Hey everyone, I'm in a bit of a pickle here. I haven't received my paycheck and I'm starting to get worried. Has anyone else experienced this? Any advice on what I should do next? I've tried calling but keep getting stuck on hold forever.

Ugh, that sucks! I've been there before. Have you tried emailing your HR department? Sometimes they can sort it out faster than going through the phone lines.

Thanks for the suggestion! I'll give that a shot. Fingers crossed they respond quickly 🤞

Good idea! I'd also recommend CCing your direct supervisor on the email. That way they're aware of the situation too.

Man, payroll issues are the WORST. 😤 Have you checked your bank account to make sure it's not just a delay in processing? Sometimes it takes an extra day or two to show up.

I found a method to get someone on the phone. I used this site's (claimyr.com) calling tool that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, waits for a live agent to pick up, then sends the call to my phone. It does cost $20, but it works. Here's a video about it: https://youtu.be/1X-mEsLtbmQ

Sounds too good to be true. Has anyone else tried this?

I get the skepticism, but it really did work for me. Saved me hours of frustration.

Here's what you need to do: 1. Document everything. Write down the dates you were supposed to be paid and weren't. 2. Check your employee portal or recent paystubs to see if there's any info there. 3. Email HR and your direct supervisor. Be polite but firm. 4. If you don't hear back within 24 hours, follow up with a phone call. 5. Keep a record of all communication attempts. 6. If the issue persists, consider reaching out to your state's labor board. Remember, it's illegal for employers to withhold pay. Don't let them brush you off!

This is solid advice. I'd add that if you have any coworkers you trust, ask if they're having similar issues. Strength in numbers!

This happened to me last year. Turns out there was a glitch in the new payroll system they implemented. Took them a week to sort it out, but they eventually did a special run just for those of us affected. Hang in there!

Oh man, a week? I hope it doesn't take that long in my case. Bills are due soon 😰

I feel ya. If it does take a while, don't be afraid to ask for help. Some companies will do advances in situations like this.
