EDD promised final resolution, ghosted me instead. 3 months no pay. What to do?
I'm so frustrated with the unemployment office. They told me last week they'd give a final resolution to my case, but I never got any notice or call back. I haven't been paid for three months (June to August), even though I went back to work at the end of August. Has anyone else dealt with this? What should I do when I finally get through to them on the phone?

Ugh, I feel your pain. The EDD is a total nightmare rn. I was in a similar situation last year. Here's what worked for me: • Keep calling every single day • Document everything - dates, times, who you spoke to • Ask for a supervisor if the regular agent can't help • File an appeal if they deny your claim • Reach out to your local state representative It's a pain, but persistence is key. Don't give up! You're entitled to those benefits.

This is solid advice. I'd add: make sure you have all your paperwork in order before you call. Pay stubs, termination letter, everything. It'll speed things up.

@profile 3 I know, it's brutal. But you gotta keep trying. Your $ is on the line!

I found a way to actually get someone on the phone. I used this site's (claimyr.com) calling tool that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, waits for a live agent to pick up, then sends the call to my phone. It does cost $20, but it works. Here's a video about it: https://youtu.be/1X-mEsLtbmQ

Sounds too good to be true. Has anyone else tried this?

$20??? That's highway robbery! The government should make it easier to reach them without having to pay extra 😡

I get the skepticism, but it seriously worked for me. After weeks of trying to get through, I was desperate. The $20 was worth it to finally talk to someone and get my issues resolved.

Can you explain more about how it works? Do they give you a specific time for the call?

@profile 7 Yeah, so you choose a time slot, and they start calling then. When they get an agent, your phone rings and you're connected. No more waiting on hold for hours!

This happened to me too! They kept saying they'd call back and never did. I finally got through after like 50 attempts and they said there was a 'system glitch' that delayed my payments. Keep pushing!

A system glitch? That's what they're calling it now? 🙄 How convenient for them...

The whole system is broken. We need to organize and demand better service from EDD. This is our money we're talking about!

100% agree. But how do we even start? It feels like shouting into the void sometimes.

We could start a petition, maybe reach out to local news stations? The more noise we make, the harder we are to ignore.

Pro tip: if you can't get through on the main line, try calling one of the EDD's auxiliary numbers (like the employer line) and ask to be transferred. Worked for me!
