EDD payment sent 4 days ago but not received - possible fraud?

I think someone might have hacked my unemployment account and changed my bank info. I haven't gotten my payment in 4 days even though they said it was sent. What should I do? Has anyone else had this happen?

I found a way to solve suspected unemployment account fraud, watch this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Yxy044WGXyY

Oh man, that sucks! Definitely call them ASAP and tell them you suspect fraud. Ask them to verify all your account details, especially the bank info. Don't wait on this one, fraud is serious business.

Thanks for the advice. I'm worried about how long it'll take to get through to someone. Any idea on wait times?

Oof, hate to break it to ya but EDD wait times are brutal. Could be hours. Maybe try early morning or late evening? Good luck!

Pro tip: use *67 before dialing. Sometimes it bypasses the busy signal. worked for me last week!

This happened to me last year! It was a nightmare. Here's what I did: 1. Called EDD immediately 2. Filed a fraud report on their website 3. Changed all my passwords 4. Put a freeze on my credit 5. Monitored my bank accounts closely It took about 3 weeks to sort out, but I got my money eventually. Stay persistent!

Wow, thanks for the detailed steps. Did you have to provide any extra documentation to prove it was fraud?

Yeah, they asked for a copy of my ID and a recent utility bill. Also had to fill out an affidavit. Keep all your paperwork organized, it helps!

Have you checked your spam folder? Sometimes EDD emails end up there. Also, log into your account and see if there's any messages or notices about your payment.

Good idea, I'll double-check my spam. Didn't see any messages on my account, but I'll look again.

I found a way to actually get someone on the phone. I used this site's (claimyr.com) calling tool that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, waits for a live agent to pick up, then sends the call to my phone. It does cost $20, but it works. Here's a video about it: https://youtu.be/1X-mEsLtbmQ

Sounds sketchy. Is it legit? $20 seems steep just to make a phone call.

I was skeptical too, but it's legit. Saved me hours of hold time. Worth it IMO if you're desperate to talk to someone.

How long did it take for them to get through?

For me, it took about 2 hours. But I didn't have to sit there listening to hold music the whole time. They just called me when an agent picked up.

This is why I always screenshot EVERYTHING. Everytime I certify, everytime I get a confirmation, everything. Cover your a** cause EDD sure won't 🙄
