EDD partial payment after submitting computation form - what to do?

Hey everyone, I'm having some issues with my unemployment benefits. I submitted a computation form a couple weeks ago and only got a partial payment. Now I'm not sure if everything is in order or if I need to do something else. Has anyone else dealt with this? I'm thinking about calling to make sure everything is okay, but I'm not sure what to ask. Any advice?

I found a way to solve partial unemployment payment issues, watch this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=55bbyz53HyY

Ugh, I feel you. The EDD system is such a mess rn. I had a similar issue last month. Did you keep a copy of the form you sent in? That might come in handy when you call.

Yeah, I made sure to keep a copy. Good thinking! Did you end up calling them? How long did it take to get it sorted out?

It took forever to get through, but once I did, it was resolved pretty quick. Just be prepared to wait on hold for hours 🙄

Hours? More like days lol. I swear I aged 10 years trying to get through to them last time 👴

When you call, make sure to ask these questions: 1. Why was only a partial payment issued? 2. Is there any additional information or documentation needed? 3. What's the timeline for receiving the full payment? 4. Are there any issues with your claim that you need to address? Also, have all your documents ready when you call. It'll make the process smoother. Good luck!

This is super helpful, thank you! I'll definitely use these questions when I call.

Great advice! I'd also suggest asking for a reference number for the call. It helps if you need to follow up later.

I found a way to actually get someone on the phone. I used this site's (claimyr.com) calling tool that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, waits for a live agent to pick up, then sends the call to my phone. It does cost $20, but it works. Here's a video about it: https://youtu.be/1X-mEsLtbmQ

Sounds too good to be true. Has anyone else tried this?

I get the skepticism, but it seriously saved me hours of frustration. Worth every penny imo

Can confirm, I used it last week. Felt like I was cheating the system or something lol, but it worked!

Pro tip: call right when they open. I usually have better luck getting through early in the morning.

This! Also, Wednesdays seem to be less busy for some reason. At least in my experience.

Anyone else think its crazy that we have to jump through so many hoops just to get the benefits we're entitled to? The system is seriously messed up.

Ikr? And don't even get me started on the website. It's like it was designed in 1995 and never updated 💀
