EDD double-charged me and now I can't get through - help!
Has anyone else been charged multiple times for their EDD claim? I've been charged twice already and I'm worried about being charged again. I'm trying to get a refund for the extra charge, but it's been a hassle. The system keeps saying I have a call in progress, which is super frustrating. I'm in California and it's already late in the day. Will they even call me back today or tomorrow? This whole process is so confusing and stressful.

Ugh, I feel your pain! The EDD system is a total nightmare. I've been dealing with similar issues for weeks now. It's like they're purposely making it difficult for us to get help. Have you tried calling their customer service line? It's usually a long wait, but sometimes you can get through to a real person who can help.

Calling them is useless. I've spent hours on hold only to get disconnected. Its like trying to win the lottery š¤”

I actually got through once after waiting for 3 hours. The person on the other end sounded just as confused as I was lol

I found a method to get someone on the phone. I used this site's (claimyr.com) calling tool that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, waits for a live agent to pick up, then sends the call to my phone. It does cost $20, but it works. Here's a video explaining it: https://youtu.be/1X-mEsLtbmQ

Sounds too good to be true. Has anyone else tried this?

I know it sounds sketchy, but I swear it worked for me. Saved me hours of frustration. Sometimes you gotta spend money to make money, ya know? š¤·āāļø

Can you give more details about how it works? Is it legit?

Sure thing! You just go to their website, choose the EDD line, pay the fee, and they start calling for you. When they get a real person, they connect you. Saved me a ton of time and headache.

Here's what I've learned from dealing with EDD multiple times: ā¢ Always document everything. Keep a record of all charges, calls, and interactions. ā¢ If you're charged multiple times, contact your bank immediately to dispute the charges. ā¢ EDD usually closes at 5 PM PST, so if it's late in the day, you probably won't hear back until the next business day. ā¢ Be persistent. Sometimes you have to call multiple times or try different methods to get through. ā¢ Check your spam folder for emails from EDD. Sometimes important messages end up there. ā¢ If all else fails, contact your local state representative. They can sometimes intervene on your behalf. Hope this helps! Hang in there, we're all in the same boat. šŖ

Contacting your state rep is a great tip! They helped me resolve an issue that had been dragging on for months.

Have you tried checking your account online? Sometimes the system updates faster than what they tell you over the phone.

This happened to me last month! It took about a week, but I eventually got refunded for the extra charge. Just keep bugging them about it.

A week? Ugh, that's so long. But I guess I'll just have to be patient. Thanks for sharing your experience!

Pro tip: if you're having trouble getting through on the phone, try calling right when they open in the morning. I've had better luck that way.
