EDD claim pending due to part-time work hours processing delay - need advice for upcoming call

Hey everyone, I'm having trouble with my unemployment claim. It's pending because of a delay in processing my part-time work hours. Has anyone else dealt with this? I'm not sure what to do next and could use some advice on how to handle the call with EDD.

I found a way to solve pending claim due to part-time hours, watch this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ElA9LMwMCWw

Ugh, I feel your pain. I had the same issue last month. Here's what worked for me: • Gather all your pay stubs and work schedules • Call EDD first thing in the morning (like 8:01 AM) • Be super polite but firm about needing it resolved • Ask if there's anything specific they need from you • Get the name of who you talk to and a reference number It took about a week after the call, but it finally got sorted. Good luck!

Thanks so much for the detailed advice! I'll definitely try calling early. Did you have to fax anything in or was it all handled over the phone?

For me, it was all over the phone. But have your fax number ready just in case. Some reps might ask you to fax stuff. Better safe than sorry!

This is solid advice. I'd add: keep a log of all your calls, who you spoke to, and what they said. It helps if you need to escalate later.

Same boat here. It's like trying to win the lottery just to talk to a human 😭

Pro tip: use the Spanish line and then ask for English. Usually shorter wait times.

I found a method to get someone on the phone. I used this site's (claimyr.com) calling tool that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, waits for a live agent to pick up, then sends the call to my phone. It does cost $20, but it works. Here's a video about it: https://youtu.be/1X-mEsLtbmQ

Sounds sketchy. Is it legit? $20 seems steep just to make a phone call.

I was skeptical too, but it actually worked for me. Saved me hours of frustration. Worth it IMO if you're desperate.

How long did it take to get through using this service?

It took about 2 hours, but I didn't have to sit by the phone. They called me when an agent was on the line.

have you tried updating your info online? sometimes that kicks the system into gear and processes stuff faster

This happened to me too! Turns out they had my work hours from an old W2 job mixed up with my current part-time gig. Make sure to clarify which employer they're looking at when you call.

Oh wow, I didn't even think about that. I'll definitely double-check. Thanks for the heads up!

Anyone else notice how the EDD system seems to break down every time there's a holiday or long weekend? It's like clockwork at this point 🙄

Yep, it's almost garuanteed. I always brace myself for issues around holidays now.

conspiracy theory: they do it on purpose to reduce payouts 👀

Hey OP, quick question - how long has your claim been pending? I'm on week 3 of waiting and wondering if I should be worried.

It's been about 2 weeks for me. From what I've heard, 3 weeks isn't uncommon, but it might be worth giving them a call just to check on the status.
