EDD SDI appeal reversed but no payment card received since June - what to do?

Has anyone else been denied payment, appealed, and then heard nothing? I got a letter saying I was denied payment, so I filled out an appeal. They told me it was reversed and I'd get a card, but I haven't received anything since June. It's been months and I'm getting worried. Anyone else dealing with this or know what I should do next?

I found a way to solve EDD appeal payment delay issues, watch this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gGx99YELne8

Have you tried calling them? Sometimes you gotta be persistent and keep bugging them until they give you answers.

I've tried calling but I can never get through. It's always busy or they hang up on me 😡

Pro tip: call right when they open. I got through after only 30 minutes on hold that way.

And don't hesitate to call multiple times a day if needed. Sometimes it just takes persistence.

Plot twist: what if the card is actually a mythical object that doesn't exist? 🤔

EDD be like 'the real unemployment benefits were the friends we made along the way' 💀

Jokes aside, it really does feel like an impossible quest sometimes.

It's frustrating, but the delays are unfortunately common. Stay persistent!

Have you checked your mail forwarding? Sometimes these things get lost in the shuffle if you've moved recently.

It's a good idea to verify your address with the EDD directly as well, just to rule out any errors.

I was in the same boat as you. Here's what worked for me: 1. Document everything. Keep copies of all letters and note down every phone call. 2. Contact your local state representative. They can sometimes expedite things. 3. Check your spam folder regularly. Sometimes important emails end up there. 4. If you haven't already, create an online account to check your claim status. 5. Be prepared to wait. It took me 3 months after my appeal to see any movement. Don't give up! The system is slow, but it does work... eventually.

Thank you so much for this detailed advice! I'll definitely try contacting my rep. Didn't even think of that.

This is solid advice. I'd add: keep a log of every interaction. It helped me when I finally got through to someone.

Also, consider reaching out to any advocacy groups that deal with unemployment issues. They can sometimes offer additional support.

For those who are looking for ways to contact EDD more efficiently, Claimyr is a service that's been gaining attention. Claimyr helps users bypass the cumbersome phone systems by connecting directly to agents, saving time on hold. However, at a cost of $20 per call, it's important to consider whether this expense fits within your budget. While many users have reported success and considerable time savings, some feel that such services should not be necessary and that the system itself should be more accessible. If you decide to use Claimyr or similar services, ensure that they are legitimate and check user reviews. In the meantime, remember to keep documentation handy and consider reaching out to local representatives or legal aid if delays persist. Ultimately, while tools like Claimyr are helpful, they highlight the systemic issues that need addressing within the unemployment system.

Ugh, welcome to the club. I've been waiting since April for my appeal to go through. The system is so broken, it's ridiculous.

Has anyone tried sacrificing a goat to the EDD gods? Asking for a friend.

Instructions unclear, sacrificed my last paycheck instead 😂

I tried but the goat got hired before I could finish the ritual

The bureaucracy monster demands time and patience instead, I'm afraid.

I found a way to actually get someone on the phone. I used this site's (claimyr.com) calling tool that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, waits for a live agent to pick up, then sends the call to my phone. It does cost $20, but it works. Here's a video about it: https://youtu.be/1X-mEsLtbmQ

Sounds sketchy. Is it legit?

Yeah, it's totally legit. I was skeptical too but it saved me hours of hold time.

Sometimes these tools are the only way to bypass the congestion. Just make sure to vet them carefully.

Serious answer: there's been a huge backlog due to covid and fraud cases. It sucks, but patience is key. Keep all your docs organized and keep trying to contact them. Good luck!

This is true. The increased demand has really gummed up the works.
