If I could give 10 stars I would

If I could give 10 stars I would If I could give 10 stars I would Such an amazing service so needed during the times when EDD almost never picks up Claimyr gets me on the phone with EDD every time without fail faster. A much needed service without Claimyr I would have never received the payment I needed to support me during my postpartum recovery. Thank you so much Claimyr!

Really made a difference

Really made a difference, save me time and energy from going to a local office for making the call.

Worth not wasting your time calling for hours.

Was a bit nervous or untrusting at first, but my calls went thru. First time the wait was a bit long but their customer chat line on their page was helpful and put me at ease that I would receive my call. Today my call dropped because of EDD and Claimyr heard my concern on the same chat and another call was made within the hour.

An incredibly helpful service

An incredibly helpful service! Got me connected to a CA EDD agent without major hassle (outside of EDD's agents dropping calls – which Claimyr has free protection for). If you need to file a new claim and can't do it online, pay the $ to Claimyr to get the process started. Absolutely worth it!

Consistent,frustration free, quality Service.

Used this service a couple times now. Before I'd call 200 times in less than a weak frustrated as can be. But using claimyr with a couple hours of waiting i was on the line with an representative or on hold. Dropped a couple times but each reconnected not long after and was mission accomplished, thanks to Claimyr.

IT WORKS!! Not a scam!

I tried for weeks to get thru to EDD PFL program with no luck. I gave this a try thinking it may be a scam. OMG! It worked and They got thru within an hour and my claim is going to finally get paid!! I upgraded to the $60 call. Best $60 spent!

did you get WIC too? sometimes people think kids dont get calfresh if they already get WIC but thats wrong you can get both

No, we don't have WIC. I did apply a while back but my older kids were too old at that point. But my daughter should definitely be on CalFresh regardless since she lives with us and we all eat together. Seems like it was just an error on their part.

One more thing - when you call, make sure you're ready with your daughter's full name, date of birth, and Social Security number. Having all this information ready will help them process the change faster. And definitely ask them to review your case for any other errors while they're at it. Sometimes one mistake means there might be others too!

That's great advice, thank you! I'll have all her information ready when I call. Fingers crossed it gets resolved quickly.

my worker told me theres a huge increase in EBT fraud right now!!! they're using skimmers and cameras to get card numbers and PINs. always cover the keypad when typing PIN and check for weird card readers that wiggle or look off. also some scammers call pretending to be EBT and ask for ur card info NEVER give that!!

0 coins

This is excellent advice. I'd also recommend changing the PIN immediately whenever you suspect anything unusual with the card. And never use the card at small, questionable retailers if possible.

I used to work for CalFresh, and I'd recommend two things: 1) Report the fraud immediately to EBT customer service, 2) Contact your county office directly and speak with an eligibility worker to file an official claim. You'll need to sign an affidavit stating which transactions weren't yours. The county can expedite replacement benefits in hardship cases while the fraud investigation proceeds. Make sure to mention your aunt is elderly and has no other food resources - this can qualify as a hardship case. Also request a new card with a different number immediately.

Update: Finally got through using that Claimyr service (which worked great BTW). They're sending a new card and I filed the fraud claim. The worker said they can see it was used at locations we've never shopped at before, so that helps our case. They're expediting replacement benefits which should arrive in 5-7 days since my aunt qualifies for hardship assistance due to her age and medical condition. Thanks everyone for your help!

To answer your original question: For P-EBT in San Bernardino County, you need to call the state P-EBT hotline (877-328-9677), not your local TAD office. \n\nFor your issue specifically, since you've been waiting 3+ months, I recommend:\n\n1. Call the P-EBT hotline first thing when they open (8am) for shortest wait times\n2. Have your children's school information, student ID numbers, and your current address ready\n3. Ask specifically if there are any \

This is incredibly helpful, thank you! I'll try calling right at 8am tomorrow with all that information ready. If that doesn't work, I might try that Claimyr service someone mentioned above - can't spend all day on hold with two kids at home.

i just wanted to add that my cousin works for the food bank and she said lots more people coming in since those emergency food stamps ended. if ur family needs extra food u should check out the food banks. they dont ask many questions and u can go even if u get calfresh. they have produce and meat sometimes too not just canned stuff. just google LA food bank locations and they will tell u where to go based on ur zip code

Thanks for the tip! I'll look into food banks in my area. Anything helps at this point.

One more thing to note - while the regular emergency allotments have ended, LA County does occasionally issue one-time supplements during specific circumstances. For example, during the extended power outages last summer, some CalFresh recipients received replacement benefits for food lost due to refrigeration issues. Also, if you experience a major household change that significantly decreases your income (job loss, reduction in hours, someone leaving the household), report it immediately rather than waiting for your next SAR7. LA County is required to process these changes within 10 days and adjust your benefits accordingly. This isn't "extra" benefits, but it does ensure you're receiving the maximum amount you're eligible for based on your current situation.

That 10 day processing is a JOKE!! I reported my job loss last year and it took them 37 DAYS to adjust my benefits!!! And they REFUSED to backdate it even though it was THEIR delay!! The whole system is designed to pay as little as possible for as long as possible!

I had this exact same problem last month! I tried with Chase and Wells Fargo and both refused. Ended up going to my local credit union (Golden 1) and they were super helpful. Not only did they sign the direct deposit form, but the customer service rep actually called my county worker WITH ME to verify all the information was correct. My direct deposit for CalWORKs started on the very next payment cycle. I also learned you can check the status of your direct deposit change by logging into BenefitsCal and looking under "Payment Information" once you're logged in. It will show if your account is pending verification or active.

This is so helpful! There's a Golden 1 near me too. Did you need to open a new account with them first or did you already have one? And how long did the whole process take you from filling out the form to getting it approved?

0 coins

I already had an account with them, but they told me the process is really easy to open one (just need ID and like $25 to start). From submitting the form to getting approval was about 8 days, and then the deposit came on schedule the following week. So about 2 weeks total from start to finish.

Update: I went to Bank of America today and they signed my form no problem! The banker even helped me fill out some parts I wasn't sure about. I'm submitting it to the county office tomorrow. Thanks everyone for your help! And special thanks for clarifying that this is for my CalWORKs, not CalFresh. Still learning all the terminology lol.

Excellent! Make sure to follow up with your county worker in about 7-10 days if you don't see the change reflected in your BenefitsCal account. Sometimes these forms get backlogged during busy months. If you have trouble reaching someone, that's when Claimyr can be particularly helpful for avoiding the long hold times.
