ESD phone system keeps giving 'change address' message - can't reach an agent to resolve my claim

I've been trying to call the ESD claims center for 3 days now but every time I call, I immediately get that automated 'if you want to change your address' message. Nothing else! It doesn't even give me options to speak to an agent or check my claim status. Does this mean the phone lines are completely full? Has anyone else experienced this? I REALLY need to talk to someone about my pending adjudication - it's been 6 weeks and I can't pay my mortgage next month if this doesn't get resolved. Any advice on how to actually get through to a real person???

Ugh yes this is happening to everyone right now! The phone system is completely overwhelmed. When you get that message it means all their lines are at capacity. Try calling literally the moment they open at 8am.

I tried that yesterday! Called at 7:59 and still got the same message. It's like they never actually open the lines? So frustrating!

This is unfortunately a common issue with ESD's phone system. When all agents are busy, the system defaults to that address change message instead of putting you in a queue. Some tips that have worked for others: 1. Call exactly at 8:00am (set your phone clock to atomic time) 2. Try calling on Wednesday or Thursday which tend to have slightly lower call volumes 3. Use the online message center in your eServices account to request a callback 4. If your issue is urgent, contact your state representative What's the specific issue with your claim that's in adjudication? Some problems can be resolved without talking to an agent.

Thanks for the detailed advice! My claim has been in adjudication because my employer disputed my hours. I submitted all my timesheets through the eServices portal 6 weeks ago but nothing has changed. I've sent 3 messages through the message center with no response. I'll try the Wednesday/Thursday method and maybe contact my representative.

The ESD phone systems are a JOKE!!! I dealt with the exact same thing for WEEKS last year. They don't care about us at all. The system is DESIGNED to keep you from getting help. I literally had to contact my state senator's office to get any movement on my claim after 2 months of trying. They're hoping you'll just give up!

I had the same problem and found a service called Claimyr that got me through to ESD after weeks of trying. You give them your number and they call you back when they've secured a place in the ESD phone queue. Saved me so much frustration! Website is claimyr.com and they have a video showing how it works: https://youtu.be/7DieNd3C7zQ?si=26TzE_zGms-DODN3 Everyone I've recommended it to has been able to get through. My adjudication was resolved the same day I finally spoke to someone.

Oh wow, I've never heard of this before. Does it actually work? Has anyone else used this service? I'm getting desperate enough to try anything at this point.

I used that Claimyr thing last month and it worked. Got a call back in about 2 hours and was connected to an actual ESD agent. Better than the 50+ calls I'd made on my own with no success.

Same, I was skeptical but it actually worked when nothing else did. My claim had been in adjudication for almost 8 weeks and the agent was able to push it through once I explained my situation. Definitely worth trying if you're in a financial bind like I was.

have u tried hitting different numbers when the recording starts? sometimes if u press like 2 or 4 it takes u to different menus. also i found that calling around 10:30 sometimes works better than first thing in morning when everyone is calling

I've tried pressing every possible button combination! Sometimes I get different recordings but they all end up disconnecting me. I'll try the 10:30 timing tomorrow, thanks for the suggestion.

Just as an update for everyone - I checked the ESD website this morning and they've posted a service alert about unusually high call volumes due to a new claim system update. They're recommending people use the eServices portal for most issues right now. For adjudication cases that are over 4 weeks old like yours, they've added a special form in the eServices portal under "More Services" then "Submit Documents" where you can request an expedited review. That might be faster than continuing to call.

Thank you so much for this info! I just logged in and found that form. I've submitted all my documents again with a note about the financial hardship. Fingers crossed this helps move things along. Really appreciate everyone's advice!
