If I could give 10 stars I would

If I could give 10 stars I would If I could give 10 stars I would Such an amazing service so needed during the times when EDD almost never picks up Claimyr gets me on the phone with EDD every time without fail faster. A much needed service without Claimyr I would have never received the payment I needed to support me during my postpartum recovery. Thank you so much Claimyr!

Really made a difference

Really made a difference, save me time and energy from going to a local office for making the call.

Worth not wasting your time calling for hours.

Was a bit nervous or untrusting at first, but my calls went thru. First time the wait was a bit long but their customer chat line on their page was helpful and put me at ease that I would receive my call. Today my call dropped because of EDD and Claimyr heard my concern on the same chat and another call was made within the hour.

An incredibly helpful service

An incredibly helpful service! Got me connected to a CA EDD agent without major hassle (outside of EDD's agents dropping calls – which Claimyr has free protection for). If you need to file a new claim and can't do it online, pay the $ to Claimyr to get the process started. Absolutely worth it!

Consistent,frustration free, quality Service.

Used this service a couple times now. Before I'd call 200 times in less than a weak frustrated as can be. But using claimyr with a couple hours of waiting i was on the line with an representative or on hold. Dropped a couple times but each reconnected not long after and was mission accomplished, thanks to Claimyr.

IT WORKS!! Not a scam!

I tried for weeks to get thru to EDD PFL program with no luck. I gave this a try thinking it may be a scam. OMG! It worked and They got thru within an hour and my claim is going to finally get paid!! I upgraded to the $60 call. Best $60 spent!

glad this thread exists, i'm in almost the same boat and was totally confused about the rules

Hope it helps! There's definitely more people in our situation than I realized.

The most important thing is being honest on all your forms and applications. Don't try to hide one benefit from the other agency - there's no need to and it could cause problems down the road.

0 coins

Absolutely. I plan to be completely transparent with both agencies about my situation.

For anyone who can't get through to Washington ESD by phone to ask about taxes, Claimyr has been a lifesaver for me. Got connected to an agent in under 10 minutes last week when I had questions about my claim.

0 coins

I keep seeing people mention this service. Might be worth trying since I can never get through on my own.

Bottom line - unemployment is taxable federally but not in Washington state since we don't have state income tax. Set up the 10% withholding to avoid a surprise at tax time. Simple as that.

0 coins

Thanks everyone for the advice. I'm going to log in and set up withholding right now.

Smart move. Better to get smaller payments now than owe a bunch later.

Thanks for asking this question OP, I was wondering the same thing but didn't want to look stupid asking about payment timing.

0 coins

No such thing as a stupid question when it comes to unemployment! Better to know for sure.

0 coins

Agreed, these details aren't always clear on the Washington ESD website

One last thing - keep screenshots of your weekly claim confirmations. If there's ever a payment dispute, having that proof can save you a lot of hassle with Washington ESD.

0 coins

Smart thinking! I'll start doing that from now on. Digital paper trail is always good.

0 coins

Excellent advice. Documentation is key when dealing with any government agency.

One more thing - if you quit your job, you might not be eligible for benefits unless you had good cause. They're pretty strict about that.

0 coins

I quit because of a hostile work environment and they initially denied my claim. Had to go through the whole appeal process to get it approved.

0 coins

Appeals can take months to resolve too. Better to have all your documentation ready upfront if you think there might be an issue.

The bottom line is that most people get somewhere between $300-600 per week depending on what they were earning before. It's not going to replace your full salary but it helps.

Thanks everyone for all the info! This has been really helpful in understanding how it all works.

0 coins

Yeah this thread was super informative. Way better than trying to decode the Washington ESD website!

One last thing to consider - if you have any appeals or ongoing issues with your LTD carrier, make sure that's resolved before applying for unemployment. You don't want conflicting claims about your ability to work.

0 coins

Fortunately my LTD is ending cleanly without any disputes. But that's definitely good advice for others who might have complications.

0 coins

Yes, consistency is key. Washington ESD will look at all the documentation and any contradictions could delay your claim.

For anyone reading this later, I also recommend checking with your state's vocational rehabilitation services. They often have programs that can help bridge the gap between disability and employment, and they understand the unemployment system well.

0 coins

Great suggestion! I hadn't thought about vocational rehabilitation services. I'll look into what's available in Washington.

DVR (Division of Vocational Rehabilitation) in Washington has some great programs. They can sometimes help with job placement too.
