If I could give 10 stars I would

If I could give 10 stars I would If I could give 10 stars I would Such an amazing service so needed during the times when EDD almost never picks up Claimyr gets me on the phone with EDD every time without fail faster. A much needed service without Claimyr I would have never received the payment I needed to support me during my postpartum recovery. Thank you so much Claimyr!

Really made a difference

Really made a difference, save me time and energy from going to a local office for making the call.

Worth not wasting your time calling for hours.

Was a bit nervous or untrusting at first, but my calls went thru. First time the wait was a bit long but their customer chat line on their page was helpful and put me at ease that I would receive my call. Today my call dropped because of EDD and Claimyr heard my concern on the same chat and another call was made within the hour.

An incredibly helpful service

An incredibly helpful service! Got me connected to a CA EDD agent without major hassle (outside of EDD's agents dropping calls – which Claimyr has free protection for). If you need to file a new claim and can't do it online, pay the $ to Claimyr to get the process started. Absolutely worth it!

Consistent,frustration free, quality Service.

Used this service a couple times now. Before I'd call 200 times in less than a weak frustrated as can be. But using claimyr with a couple hours of waiting i was on the line with an representative or on hold. Dropped a couple times but each reconnected not long after and was mission accomplished, thanks to Claimyr.

IT WORKS!! Not a scam!

I tried for weeks to get thru to EDD PFL program with no luck. I gave this a try thinking it may be a scam. OMG! It worked and They got thru within an hour and my claim is going to finally get paid!! I upgraded to the $60 call. Best $60 spent!

whats the best number to call for regular unemployment? i have like 5 different ones saved in my phone and i never know which one to try

The main UI Claims Center number is 800-318-6022. That's the best one to use for most unemployment issues. They're open Monday-Friday from 8am to 4pm (except holidays). If you have a specific adjudication issue, sometimes the claims center agents will give you a direct number to the adjudication department after your initial contact.

When I had issues last year they were actually pretty helpful once I got through. Speaking of which, does anyone know if they're hiring? Might be worth working for them if the pay is decent since I haven't found anything else yet...

Yes, ESD is actually hiring quite a few positions right now! They have a high turnover rate in their call centers. Check careers.wa.gov and search for Employment Security Department. The entry-level claims specialist positions start around $3,800-4,200 per month with full benefits. The training is about 6 weeks long.

UPDATE: Finally got this resolved! Used that Claimyr service someone mentioned below and actually got through to ESD in about 30 minutes! The agent confirmed exactly what you all said - the system had incorrectly flagged my standby claim as medical standby instead of employer-requested standby. She fixed it immediately and told me my claim should process normally now. Thanks everyone for the help and advice! For anyone else dealing with this issue, definitely worth paying to get through rather than waiting weeks for them to respond to messages.

Glad you got it resolved! Just a quick follow-up tip: make sure you still complete your weekly claims while waiting for this to process. Even though it should be approved now, it's important to have those weekly claims on file so there's no gap in your benefit payments.

lol this happens all the time. ESD system is a complete joke. glad u got it fixed but get ready for more random bs every week

no joke i had to fix something every single week with my claim last year!! absolute nightmare trying to get through every time!

ESD sending conflicting letters - approved for benefits but now they want medical documentation?

I'm really confused and frustrated with ESD right now. I lost my job on January 18th (Wednesday) and filed my unemployment claim starting January 22nd. Yesterday, I got this weird notification dated March 7th saying ESD thinks I was unable to work for the week of January 15-21. They wanted me to fill out some form, which I did, and I indicated I was able and available to work. I didn't attach any documents because honestly, how do I prove I was unemployed for just those 2-3 days? Plus, my claim actually starts January 22nd, so I'm not even claiming benefits for those days! This morning I woke up to THREE new letters from ESD. The first one is asking for medical information to determine if I qualify for unemployment (what??). The other two are determination letters saying I'm APPROVED for benefits starting January 22nd. I'm completely baffled. I've tried calling multiple times but can't get through. The last time I managed to speak with someone (when they called ME a few days ago), they said they were just then looking at a message I'd sent over a month ago! They said an adjudicator would start reviewing my case in 2-2.5 weeks, but it's only been a day since that call and now I have these conflicting determination letters. Has anyone dealt with this kind of confusion from ESD? Should I respond to the medical information request even though I never claimed any medical issues and I've apparently been approved anyway? I'm afraid if I ignore it, they'll reverse my approval.

i think they just get confused when ur last day is mid-week. same happened 2 me. the system doesnt know what to do with those few days b4 the official claim week starts. dont worry 2 much about it

The system doesn't know what to do?? That's RIDICULOUS! They've been processing unemployment claims for DECADES and they still can't figure out how to handle someone who lost their job mid-week? This is exactly the kind of incompetence that drives me crazy about ESD!

Just an update on what I learned after going through something similar - the medical documentation request often happens if the system thinks there's ANY question about your availability for work. The reason you got both approval letters AND the medical request is that claims processing and eligibility reviews happen on parallel tracks at ESD. Your best bet is to call and speak directly with an agent who can look at your full file and clear this up. They can often override or cancel erroneous documentation requests. The key is explaining that you have no medical restrictions and have been able and available for work since becoming unemployed. Also, don't be surprised if your payments still start coming through while this medical documentation issue is pending. ESD's different departments don't always coordinate in real-time.

Oh, parallel processing actually makes sense - that would explain the contradictory letters all arriving at once. I'll definitely try to get through to an agent to explain the situation. It's good to know payments might still come through in the meantime. Thanks for the insights!

btw something else to know - in the hearing they record EVERYTHING so speak clearly and don't interrupt the judge. i did that in mine and the judge got super annoyed. also have all your dates memorized because they'll ask specific questions about when you started/ended each job. good luck!!

One last thing to prepare for: Even after you address the voluntary quit from Company A using the purge period evidence, they will still examine whether your termination from Company B qualifies you for benefits. Make sure you're also prepared to discuss: 1. The exact reason for your termination from Company B 2. Any warnings you received prior to termination 3. Whether you violated any company policies 4. Any documentation of the termination reason If you were terminated for misconduct, you could still be disqualified regardless of resolving the Company A issue. Misconduct includes things like willful disregard of employer interests, violation of reasonable policies after warnings, dishonesty, etc. However, if you were terminated for performance issues despite your best efforts, inability to meet job requirements despite trying, or business reasons (layoff, reduction in force), these are NOT misconduct and shouldn't disqualify you.

Fortunately, I was terminated from Company B due to a reduction in force. They eliminated my entire department due to budget cuts. I have the termination letter stating this, so I should be OK on that front. I'm hoping once we get past the Company A voluntary quit issue with the purge period evidence, the Company B termination will be straightforward since it was clearly not misconduct.

When I had to call ESD about my military spouse thing, i had to call like 50 times before getting through!! The website is so confusing and the agents kept telling me different things. One told me I couldn't get benefits while working part time at all which was WRONG!!! Just keep trying and don't give up!!

That's why I ended up using Claimyr - couldn't deal with the constant busy signals and disconnects. Got through to someone who actually knew what they were talking about regarding partial benefits.

To address your question about speeding up adjudication - unfortunately, there's no guaranteed way to expedite the process. However, ensuring your application is complete and providing all documentation upfront can help prevent additional delays. If you're experiencing financial hardship while waiting, you can request an expedited review by explaining your situation when you speak with an agent. Also, don't forget that you may qualify for a job search waiver for a few weeks after relocating. This means you won't have to perform the usual three job search activities per week immediately, giving you some time to settle in. Be sure to ask about this when you speak with ESD.

Thank you so much for all this information! I'll definitely ask about the job search waiver. That would be really helpful during our transition period. I appreciate everyone's help on this thread!
