Another tip - screenshot everything! Your claim status, payment confirmations, weekly filing confirmations. I've seen people have issues where the system didn't record something properly and having screenshots saved them a lot of hassle.
Overall just be patient but persistent. The system works but it's not always fast or intuitive. Stay on top of your requirements and don't hesitate to reach out for help if you get stuck on something. Most people get through the process just fine, it just takes longer than we'd all like!
Make sure you have your bank account info ready for direct deposit. Much faster than waiting for checks in the mail.
One last thing - if you get denied for any reason, don't panic. You can appeal the decision. The appeals process gives you a chance to explain your situation to a judge.
Just wanted to share that I tried that Claimyr service someone mentioned earlier and it actually worked! Finally got through to Washington ESD and got all my questions answered about my benefit duration and remaining weeks. Definitely worth it if you're having trouble reaching them.
Bottom line for anyone reading this: 26 weeks maximum for regular unemployment in Washington State. File every week, do your job searches, and keep good records. The time goes faster than you expect so don't waste it.
If you're worried about getting disqualified, another option is to use Claimyr to talk to an agent and get clarity on your specific situation. Way better than guessing or getting bad advice online.
One last thing - make sure you file your weekly claims on time every week even if you think you might not qualify. Missing those deadlines can create problems even if you're ultimately eligible.

Just wanted to say good luck with your claim! I was in a similar situation last year and it worked out fine. The stress of not knowing is awful but try to stay positive. Washington ESD is pretty fair about these things when it's clearly not misconduct.

•That's what this community is for! We've all been through the unemployment process and know how scary it can be.

One more thing - when you do your weekly claims, make sure you're honest about looking for work and meeting the job search requirements. That's separate from your eligibility issue but you need to keep up with it once you're approved.

•Good reminder. What are the current job search requirements? I haven't been on unemployment before.

•You need to make at least 3 job search activities per week and keep a log. There are details on the Washington ESD website about what counts as a valid job search activity.
