NYDOL Virtual Appointment: No Webex Login Info Received & Questions About Moving States While on UI
Hey everyone, I'm in a bit of a pickle. I have a virtual appointment coming up but I didn't get my sign-in info. They said it would come by letter, and it's supposed to be on Webex. I've checked my email but there's nothing there. Anyone else run into this? Also, I'm thinking about moving to another state, but I'm worried it might mess with my unemployment benefits. Any advice on how that works?

I found a way to solve missing virtual appointment login info, watch this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VvgydW4kKUU

Ugh, I hate when they don't send the login info! Have you tried checking your spam folder? Sometimes important stuff ends up there. As for moving, I think it can def affect your benefits. You might need to reapply in the new state. Best to ask them directly before making any decisions.

Yeah, I checked spam too. Nothing there either. š« Guess I'll have to call them... again. Thanks for the heads up about moving!

Pro tip: Set up email filters for anything from the unemployment office. That way you'll never miss important stuff like this again!

I found a method to get someone on the phone. I used this site's (claimyr.com) calling tool that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, waits for a live agent to pick up, then sends the call to my phone. It does cost $20, but it works. Here's a video about it: https://youtu.be/Rdqa1gKtxuE

Sounds sketchy. Is it legit? $20 seems steep just to make a phone call.

I get the skepticism, but it's totally legit. Saved me hours of hold time. Worth every penny imo.

How long did it take for them to call you back?

It took about 2 hours for me, but I've heard it can vary. Still way better than being stuck on hold all day!

Moving to another state while on unemployment is tricky. Here's what you need to know: ā¢ Your benefits are typically based on the state where you worked and filed your claim ā¢ If you move, you may need to transfer your claim or file a new one in your new state ā¢ Benefit amounts can change because each state has different rules and calculations ā¢ You MUST inform the unemployment office of your move ā¢ Some states have agreements that make it easier to transfer claims ā¢ You might need to meet new eligibility requirements in the new state Before you move, call your current unemployment office and ask about the process. Also, check with the new state's office to understand their rules. It's a hassle, but being proactive can save you from bigger headaches later!

This is super helpful! Wish I'd known this before I moved last year. Ended up losing a month of benefits because I didn't notify them in time. š

Have you tried reaching out to them on social media? Sometimes they're more responsive there. Worth a shot!

About the virtual appointment - I had the same issue last month. Turns out they sent the info to my old email address on file. Double-check what contact info they have for you. Also, try logging into your unemployment account online, sometimes they post important notices there.

Moving states while on unemployment is a NIGHTMARE. I did it last year and it took months to sort everything out. If you can avoid it, stay put until your benefits run out. Trust me, it's not worth the hassle.

Yikes, that sounds rough. Maybe I'll reconsider my plans. Thanks for the warning!

I second this. Moved from NY to FL and it was a total clusterfuck. Lost benefits for 2 months while they 'processed' my case. Never again.

Hey OP, for the Webex thing - try going to webex.com and clicking 'Join a Meeting'. Sometimes you can just enter your name and the meeting number (if you have it) without needing a specific login. Worth a shot if you're in a pinch!
