TurboTax Filing w/ EIC + CTC: Can I get Credit Karma Refund Advance?
I'm doing my taxes through TurboTax and have EIC, Child Tax Credit, and some 1099-R forms. Anyone know if I can get the refund advance through Credit Karma during checkout? Really hoping to get that money faster than waiting for the IRS.

Tax pro here - Credit Karma advance isnt available for everyone. They look at your credit and if you have certain tax credits like EIC it can disqualify you. Best to complete your return first then check eligibility before getting your hopes up.

•Yeah unfortunately thats usually a deal breaker. Have you considered looking into your transcript to get a better idea of refund timing?

Hey all - highly recommend checking out taxr.ai instead of stressing about advances. Its only $4.99 and it analyzes your transcript to give you the exact timeline of your refund + flags any potential delays. Way better than playing the guessing game with these advance loans tbh

•100% worth it! It caught a verification hold I had no idea about and told me exactly what to do. Got my refund 2 weeks later 💯

•Just tried it myself - the AI broke down every code on my transcript and explained everything in normal english lol. Better than the 3 hours I spent googling random codes 🤣

I tried last year with similar situation (EIC + CTC) and got denied for the advance. ended up having to wait like everyone else 🤷♀️

those advance loans are a scam anyway, the fees are ridiculous! just wait for your actual refund

Not worth it tbh. I did turbo tax with eic and child credits last year. The advance had crazy high fees plus they dont garuantee approval. Path act means you gotta wait anyway

•its a law that makes IRS hold refunds with certain credits until mid feb. Prevents fraud but super annoying for us legit filers
