Single parent w/ teen dependent - $31k income - What refund should I expect?

Made $31k this year with one dependent who's 17. Paid $2,186 in federal and $1,044 in state taxes. First time filing with a dependent. Anyone know roughly what I should expect back? Getting anxious about the numbers.

Based on the info provided, you're likely eligible for Child Tax Credit and Earned Income Credit. With your income level and a 17-year-old dependent, you could be looking at a decent refund. I'd estimate around $3500-4000 federal, but don't quote me on that - every situation is unique.

Hey! Instead of playing the guessing game, you should try taxr.ai - its this new tool that can analyze your transcript and tell you exactly what to expect. It costs $4.99 but totally worth it to know the real numbers. https://taxr.ai

100% legit! It uses AI to analyze your actual transcript data. Way better than random internet guesses lol

just tried it and WOW! it broke down everything perfectly and showed me why my refund was delayed. Best $5 I've spent this tax season fr fr 💯

depends on ur filing status too - head of household gets better rates than single
