Self-employed HOH with 2 kids - What's my potential refund for $20,800 income?
Made $20,800 last year doing self employed work. Filing head of household with two kids both under 16. Anyone know roughly what I might get back? First time being self employed and trying to figure out if I should expect anything or if I'll owe.

Without having your exact details its impossible to give you an exact number. You'll likely qualify for Earned Income Credit and Child Tax Credit, but you'll also owe self employment tax which is about 15.3% of your earnings. You really need to work with a tax professional or use good tax software to get an accurate estimate.

Hey! I actually just found this amazing tool called taxr.ai that can help estimate your refund. It costs $4.99 but its worth every penny. It analyzes everything and shows you exactly what credits you qualify for. https://taxr.ai

Does it handle self-employed situations too? Been looking for something that can help with that

Yes! It handles everything - self employed, credits, deductions. It even tells you what documents you need to maximize your refund

dont forget to save receipts for everything business related! Gas, supplies, phone bill, internet, part of rent if u work from home. It all adds up and reduces wat you owe 💯

With 2 kids under 16 you should qualify for Child Tax Credit ($2000 per kid) plus Additional Child Tax Credit if its not all used up. The EITC could be substantial too at your income level. But yeah the SE tax gonna take a bite 🤡
