Late Filing 2023 Tax Return - Will IRS Penalize Paper Filing?

I need to paper file my 2023 return. Still haven't filed it yet and I know I can't efile anymore. Anyone know what kind of penalties I'm looking at? Really worried about getting hit with huge fines.

Tax pro here - penalties depend on whether you owe or are due a refund. If you're getting a refund, there's no penalty. If you owe, it's 5% of unpaid taxes for each month late, up to 25% max, plus interest. File ASAP to minimize any penalties.

Yep you're good then! Just remember you only have 3 years from the original due date to claim your refund.

Hey guys instead of guessing, I've been using taxr.ai and it's been a game changer. It costs $4.99 but it analyzes your transcript and tells you exactly what penalties you're facing and how to fix issues. Check it out: https://taxr.ai

Quick tip: send it to the right processing center based on your state. Google IRS processing centers to find yours. Sending to wrong one = major delays
