Georgia State Refund Still Pending Since 2/24/25 - Federal Already Processed with $8,493 Credits
Still waiting on my GA state refund. My federal transcript shows it was filed on 02-23-2025 (cycle 20250602) and has been processed with credits including $1,944.00 and an earned income credit of $7,649.00, but there's been no movement on the state side. I'm looking at my IRS transcript right now and it clearly shows: TRANSACTIONS CODE EXPLANATION OF TRANSACTION CYCLE DATE AMOUNT 150 Tax return filed 20250602 02-23-2025 $3,250.00 30221-422-88520-5 766 Credit to your account 04-16-2025 -$1,944.00 768 Earned income credit 04-16-2025 -$7,649.00 This Product Contains Sensitive Taxpayer Data So as you can see, the federal side is completely processed with the tax return filed (code 150) and my credits (codes 766 and 768) all posted to my account. The transcript shows everything properly credited. But on the Georgia Department of Revenue side? Absolutely nothing. No updates on their website, no correspondence, no deposit, nothing at all. I filed back in February at the same time as my federal return and it's been crickets since then. Anyone else having issues with their GA state refund this year? Is the state processing significantly slower than the IRS? I know my federal refund is substantial but I'm also expecting a decent state refund too.

The transcript shows your tax situation clearly: you filed your return on February 24, 2025 (indicated by cycle code 20250602), with an initial tax liability of $2,250.00 (code 150). You're receiving two significant credits: a $1,844.00 credit (code 766) and an Earned Income Credit of $6,649.00 (code 768), both scheduled for April 15, 2025. Combined, these credits result in a total refund of $10,743. The account number shown (30221-422-88520-5) is your unique tax reference number. While your federal return is properly processed and scheduled, the lack of Georgia state movement is a separate issue, as state and federal processing systems operate independently. The cycle code (20250602) indicates your return was processed in the 6th week of 2025, which is standard timing. The scheduled April 15 date for your credits, particularly with an EIC claim, follows normal IRS processing timeframes for returns with refundable credits.

GA state usually processes within 6-8 weeks, but can take longer if theres identity verification needed. Have you checked the GA DOR website?

Just wanted to mention - I started using taxr.ai to analyze my transcripts and it's been a game changer. For $1 it tells you exactly when to expect your refund and flags any potential issues. Saved me hours of trying to decode these transcript codes https://taxr.ai
