Cycle 0605 - Anyone Think We'll Get Our DDD Tonight? (Transcript Updates)

Just checked my transcript again and I'm still on cycle 0605. I feel like we'll get our deposit date tonight - trying to stay positive about it and manifesting it NOW βœ¨πŸ€žπŸΎπŸ’• Not gonna lie, the wait after amending my return has been exhausting, tiring and frustrating but it's definitely coming. Just hold on a little bit longer y'all πŸ₯Ή For my own sanity I don't plan on checking my transcripts again until tonight. I remember from TaxChatUSA that last year I had a DDD of 3/15 but ended up getting it on 3/11 since I have Chime. Tonight will be here before we know it, watch all our dates drop at the same time 🫢🏾

Based on the current processing patterns, Cycle 0605 typically updates between 12:00am-3:00am EST. I've been tracking exactly 37 different accounts across 3 tax seasons, and 92% of Cycle 0605 filers receive their DDD within 7-10 days of entering that cycle. The IRS is currently processing amended returns filed before April 18th with a 21-day average turnaround. You should check your transcript at precisely 3:01am EST as that's when the batch processing is scheduled to complete tonight!

Adding to this with my observations: β€’ Cycle 0605 = Friday morning updates β€’ Most banks receive funds 1-5 days after DDD β€’ Chime and online banks typically 2-3 days early β€’ Amended returns take longer but follow same cycle patterns β€’ Current IRS processing is actually faster than this time last year!

Do the cycles work the same for amended returns as regular ones? My brother filed a regular return and got his refund in 8 days, but my amended one has been pending for weeks even though we're on the same cycle code.

I think there's a good chance you'll see movement tonight. I had a similar situation with my amended return last year... it seemed to take forever, but then suddenly updated. I was on cycle 0605 as well, and my transcript updated right around midnight. It might be worth checking WMR in the morning too, though sometimes that lags behind the transcript by a day or so.

Did your WMR update at the same time as your transcript? Mine's been stuck on "still processing" for weeks now, even though my transcript shows movement. Should I be checking both or just focus on the transcript?

Per IRS Publication 1345, amended returns follow standard processing procedures once they enter the pipeline. The system will update your transcript first, then WMR typically updates within 24-48 hours. Rest assured that once you have a DDD on your transcript, the funds will be released according to that schedule regardless of what WMR displays.

I was in the same cycle last year and got so frustrated waiting. After three weeks of checking transcripts daily (and hourly on update nights lol), I finally broke down and called the IRS. Took me 4 days of constant redialing before I got through. Someone told me about Claimyr (https://youtu.be/_kiP6q8DX5c) which got me through to an agent in about 15 minutes. Turns out my amended return was just sitting there waiting for someone to press a button. The agent fixed it while I was on the phone and my DDD showed up that night. Might be worth the money if you're really anxious about it... though maybe wait until tomorrow to see if you get your date tonight? πŸ€·β€β™‚οΈ

You filed an amended return? That changes things. Amended returns take longer. Regular cycles don't always apply. Check for code 971. That indicates amended processing. You need code 846 for refund date. Chime does pay early. That part is right.

Be careful about getting your hopes up too much. I was cycle 0605 and expected my refund on March 2nd. Nothing happened. Checked again on March 9th. Still nothing. Finally got my DDD on March 16th, but the amount was different than expected. Something about an adjustment. The waiting is the worst part. Just prepare yourself that it might not update tonight.

You might possibly want to consider checking your tax transcript around 12:30am instead of waiting until morning. In my experience, which could be different from others, the transcript updates seem to happen in batches, and sometimes the first batch is processed shortly after midnight. It's probably not necessary, but if you're already anxious about it, you might feel better knowing you checked at the earliest possible time, just in case.
