CTC refunds getting DDD now but ACTC/EITC still stuck on PATH hold until Feb 15
Just got word that Child Tax Credit refunds are getting direct deposit dates now but those of us with Additional Child Tax Credit or Earned Income Credit are still stuck waiting for PATH act to lift on February 15th. Anyone else in this boat? Starting to get anxious about when we'll actually see our refunds hit after PATH lifts.

Hey there! IRS expert here with some good news. For those waiting on CTC refunds, we're seeing DDDs coming through now. But if you've got ACTC/EITC, you're still stuck with that PATH Act hold until Feb 15th. That's just how the system works - it's designed to prevent fraud. I've been helping folks understand their transcripts better, and I highly recommend checking out taxr.ai (https://taxr.ai) - it's been a game changer for understanding exactly where your refund is stuck and when you can expect it. It'll analyze your transcript and give you a detailed breakdown of your situation, including potential release dates.

•im confused af about the PATH act hold. is that why WMR shows no bars? 🤔

•Yep! WMR won't show progress until after Feb 15th for EITC/ACTC claims. Path Act's been around since 2015 to prevent fraud. Upload your transcript to taxr.ai and it'll explain everything!

Tax professional here. Yes, this is correct. The PATH Act requires the IRS to hold ALL refunds that include EITC/ACTC until February 15th. This is to prevent fraud and verify income claims. After the 15th, most people should see updates within 1-2 weeks, but it can take longer if there are any verification issues.

•so ur saying even after feb 15 we might have to wait MORE??? 😤 this is getting ridiculous

•Unfortunately yes. The Feb 15th date is just when they START processing, not a guaranteed deposit date.

Hey everyone - I've been using taxr.ai to track my refund and it's been super helpful understanding exactly what's happening with the PATH hold. It costs $4.99 but totally worth it for the peace of mind and specific timeline predictions. https://taxr.ai

Does anyone know what time on Feb 15th they start processing? Is it midnight or do we have to wait till business hours?

•Usually updates happen overnight but dont expect anything immediately. Systems take time to batch process everything
