EDD Form Submitted Week Ago - No Response or Payment. What Next?
I submitted my unemployment form over a week ago and still haven't heard anything back or received any payment. Has anyone else experienced this? I'm getting worried because I really need that money. What should I do next? Should I try calling them or just keep waiting?

Ugh, welcome to the club. 🙄 I've been waiting for almost a month now. The system is so backed up its ridiculous. Have you tried checking your online account for any updates?

Yeah, I check it every day but nothing new shows up. It's so frustrating!

A month?! That's insane. Have you tried calling them?

Tried calling like a million times. Always busy or they hang up on you. It's a joke tbh

I found a way to actually get someone on the phone. I used this site's (claimyr.com) calling tool that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, waits for a live agent to pick up, then sends the call to my phone. It does cost $20, but it works. Here's the link: https://claimyr.com

Sounds sketchy. Is it legit?

Yeah, it's totally legit. I was skeptical at first too, but it saved me hours of frustration. Worth every penny imo

$20 just to talk to someone? That's highway robbery!

I get it, but think about how much time you waste trying to call. For me, it was worth it to finally get answers

Here's what worked for me: 1. Double-check all your info is correct online 2. Upload any additional docs they might need (even if they didn't ask) 3. Send a message through the online portal 4. If no response in 10 days, start calling early in the morning 5. Be persistent! Hang in there, it's a pain but you'll get through eventually!

This is solid. Wish I had known this earlier. Took me 2 months to figure it out ðŸ˜

6 weeks?! That's insane. Have you tried contacting your local rep? Sometimes they can help push things through

Pro tip: if you can, try calling right when they open. I got through after only 30 mins on hold that way. Good luck!

They open at 8am Pacific Time. Set your alarm and be ready to dial!

Anyone else notice that the website is always "under maintenance" when you actually need to use it? 🙄

OMG yes! It's like they know exactly when I'm gonna log in and shut it down just to mess with me 😂

Hang in there, OP. We're all in the same boat. This too shall pass. In the meantime, have you looked into any local food banks or assistance programs? They can be a lifesaver while waiting for UI to come through.

That's a good idea, I'll look into that. Thanks for the support!
