SDI claim issues - need advice on dealing with State Disability Insurance delays
Hey everyone, I'm having some issues with SDI and I'm not sure what to do. Has anyone else dealt with problems related to State Disability Insurance recently? I'm feeling pretty lost and could use some advice or just hear about other people's experiences.

Ugh, SDI can be such a pain to deal with. What specific problem are you having? I've been through the wringer with them, so maybe I can help.

Thanks for responding! I'm not even sure where to start. I filed a claim but haven't heard anything back. It's been weeks and I'm getting worried about bills piling up.

Oh man, I feel you. The waiting game is the worst. Have you tried checking your claim status online? Sometimes they don't communicate well but the info is there.

I tried, but the online system is confusing. I'll give it another shot though. How long did it take for your claim to go through?

It took about 3 weeks for mine, but I've heard it can take longer. Hang in there! 💪

SDI is a mess rn. I've been waiting for 2 months and still nothing. Good luck getting anyone on the phone too 🙄

I found a way to actually get someone on the phone! I used this site's (claimyr.com) calling tool that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, waits for a live agent to pick up, then sends the call to my phone. It does cost $20, but it works. Here's a video about it: https://youtu.be/1X-mEsLtbmQ

Sounds too good to be true. Has anyone else tried this?

I know it sounds sketchy, but I swear it worked for me. Saved me hours of hold time. Sometimes you gotta spend money to make money, ya know?

How long did you have to wait after using the service?

It took about 30 minutes total. Way better than the 3+ hours I spent trying to get through on my own.

Here's what I've learned from dealing with SDI: 1. Document EVERYTHING. Keep copies of all forms, medical records, and correspondence. 2. Be persistent. If you can't get through on the phone, keep trying at different times. 3. Use the online system as much as possible. It's not perfect, but it's often faster than waiting for mail. 4. If your doctor's office is slow with paperwork, stay on top of them. Your claim can't move forward without it. 5. Consider reaching out to your local state representative if you're really stuck. They sometimes can help push things along. Hope this helps someone! We're all in the same boat here. 🚣♀️

Pro tip: try accessing the site early in the morning or late at night. Less traffic = better chance of getting in.

Unpopular opinion: SDI isn't that bad if you know how to navigate it. I've had two claims go through smoothly. AMA if you need help!

Lol, no magic tricks here. Just patience, thorough paperwork, and a lot of follow-ups. Oh, and sacrificing a goat to the SDI gods might help too 😂
