EDD Payment Delay: No Payments Received, Unsure About Missing Paperwork or Claim Status
Hey everyone, I'm having issues with my unemployment payments. I should have received them by now, but nothing has shown up. I'm not sure if there's missing paperwork or if it's a problem with my claim status. Has anyone else experienced delays like this? I'm planning to call and ask about my claim status and if any documents are missing. Any advice on what specific questions I should ask when I get through?

Ugh, I feel ya. I've been waiting on my payments for weeks now. It's so frustrating! Have you checked your online account to see if there's any updates or messages?

Yeah, I've checked online but there's nothing new there. It's like my claim is just sitting in limbo or something.

That sucks. The system is so broken rn. Keep us updated on what they say when you call!

I found a method to get someone on the phone. I used this site's (claimyr.com) calling tool that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, waits for a live agent to pick up, then sends the call to my phone. It does cost $20, but it works. Here's a video about it: https://youtu.be/1X-mEsLtbmQ

Sounds too good to be true. Is this legit?

I was skeptical at first too, but it actually worked for me. Saved me hours of frustration.

20 bucks tho? That's kinda steep just to talk to someone 🤔

I get it, but for me it was worth it. I was going crazy trying to get through on my own.

Here's what you need to do when you finally get through to someone: 1. Ask for a detailed status update on your claim 2. Confirm if all required documents have been received 3. Inquire about any pending issues or flags on your account 4. Ask for the expected timeline for payment processing 5. Get a reference number for your call Make sure to take notes during the call. If they can't resolve your issue immediately, ask for a supervisor. Don't let them brush you off with vague answers. Good luck!

Great advice! I'd add: ask them to notate your account with the details of your conversation. It helps if you need to follow up later.

I swear, dealing with unemployment is like playing a game where the rules keep changing and no one tells you 🤡 Hang in there, OP!

Have you reached out to your local representative? Sometimes they can help push things along. Worth a shot if you're really stuck.

I hadn't thought of that. How do I find out who my local rep is?

Just google '[your state] find my representative'. Most have forms on their websites where you can request help with state agencies.
