File your claim today! There's literally no benefit to waiting and every day you delay is another day before you can potentially receive benefits. The system is designed for you to file as soon as you become unemployed.
Just wanted to add that if you worked in multiple states, you might have options for where to file. But since you worked in Washington recently, filing here makes the most sense. The Washington ESD system is pretty user-friendly once you get started.
The whole phone system is a joke. I gave up and just used Claimyr after wasting two weeks trying to call. Got through immediately and the agent explained everything that was happening with my claim.
Have you tried the live chat feature on the Washington ESD website? Sometimes that's faster than calling.
Anyone know if there are any job training programs available through WorkSource while you're collecting unemployment? Might be worth looking into if you want to expand your skills.
If you need help navigating the Washington ESD system or getting through to speak with someone, that Claimyr service really does work. I was skeptical at first but it saved me hours of calling and getting busy signals.
update: just got word that my claim was approved! took about 3 weeks for the adjudication but having all that documentation really helped. to anyone in similar situation - dont give up and keep records of everything
Final thought for the OP - even if you're not 100% sure your situation qualifies as good cause, it's worth applying anyway. The worst they can say is no, and then you can decide whether to appeal. Don't talk yourself out of benefits you might be entitled to.

Your situation sounds very similar to mine from a few months ago. Performance termination without misconduct usually results in approved claims. Just be prepared for the possibility of a phone interview if they need more details.

•What kind of questions do they ask in phone interviews? I want to be prepared.

•They'll ask about the circumstances of your termination, what efforts you made to improve performance, and whether you violated any company policies.

Good luck with your claim! The majority of people who are fired for performance issues do get approved for benefits. Just stay persistent and don't give up if there are initial complications.
