The whole system seems designed to confuse people honestly. But once you get your first payment the amount will be consistent every week as long as you don't have any other income to report.
If your calculation seems way off from what Washington ESD determined, definitely question it. They make mistakes sometimes and you have the right to appeal their determination.
Compare their calculation to what you think your highest quarter wages were. If there's a big difference, that's worth investigating.
And if you need to discuss discrepancies with Washington ESD, that's another situation where Claimyr can help you actually reach an agent instead of waiting on hold for hours.
For what it's worth, I know someone who filed 6 months after losing their job and still got approved. They didn't get back pay for those 6 months obviously, but they were able to collect going forward. So it's never too late to try.
Just remember that even after approval, there can be a delay before your first payment hits your account. Don't panic if the money doesn't show up immediately after you get the approval notice.
One last thing - make absolutely sure your bank account info is correct in your Washington ESD profile. I've heard of people having delays because they had an old account number on file.
Don't forget to factor in your part-time work if you get any while on unemployment. They'll reduce your weekly benefit amount based on how much you earn, but you can still receive some benefits as long as you're under certain thresholds.
The whole process seems overwhelming but once you get your first payment it gets easier. Just make sure you file your weekly claims on time every week and keep looking for work. The money helps bridge the gap while you find your next job.

Just want to echo what others have said - the workers comp settlement itself shouldn't disqualify you, but proper reporting and documentation will be key to avoiding any issues down the road.

•Got it. I'm going to make sure I have all my paperwork organized before I file.

•That's smart. Having everything documented upfront makes the whole process smoother.
