If I could give 10 stars I would

If I could give 10 stars I would If I could give 10 stars I would Such an amazing service so needed during the times when EDD almost never picks up Claimyr gets me on the phone with EDD every time without fail faster. A much needed service without Claimyr I would have never received the payment I needed to support me during my postpartum recovery. Thank you so much Claimyr!

Really made a difference

Really made a difference, save me time and energy from going to a local office for making the call.

Worth not wasting your time calling for hours.

Was a bit nervous or untrusting at first, but my calls went thru. First time the wait was a bit long but their customer chat line on their page was helpful and put me at ease that I would receive my call. Today my call dropped because of EDD and Claimyr heard my concern on the same chat and another call was made within the hour.

An incredibly helpful service

An incredibly helpful service! Got me connected to a CA EDD agent without major hassle (outside of EDD's agents dropping calls – which Claimyr has free protection for). If you need to file a new claim and can't do it online, pay the $ to Claimyr to get the process started. Absolutely worth it!

Consistent,frustration free, quality Service.

Used this service a couple times now. Before I'd call 200 times in less than a weak frustrated as can be. But using claimyr with a couple hours of waiting i was on the line with an representative or on hold. Dropped a couple times but each reconnected not long after and was mission accomplished, thanks to Claimyr.

IT WORKS!! Not a scam!

I tried for weeks to get thru to EDD PFL program with no luck. I gave this a try thinking it may be a scam. OMG! It worked and They got thru within an hour and my claim is going to finally get paid!! I upgraded to the $60 call. Best $60 spent!

Overall the system definitely kept me more selective about jobs rather than just taking anything out of panic. Probably led to a better match in the end.

That seems to support the theory about better job matching being an indirect benefit.

0 coins

Yes, and better matches typically mean higher productivity and wages long-term.

This has been incredibly helpful everyone! I have much better understanding now of how UI creates various indirect incentives beyond just the weekly payments. Thanks for all the insights!

Good luck with your paper! This is an important policy area that deserves more public understanding.

For what it's worth, I think you'll be fine since your most recent job ended involuntarily. The voluntary quit from months ago might come up during adjudication but probably won't be a deal breaker.

0 coins

Thanks for the reassurance. I'll just have to wait and see what happens during the review process.

Adjudication can take a while but usually works out if you're honest about everything.

btw if anyone else is dealing with washington esd phone issues, that claimyr thing actually works. got through in like 20 minutes instead of trying for days

Good to know there are options for when I need to talk to someone directly.

The phone situation with Washington ESD is ridiculous. Any service that can help with that is worth it.

One last tip - keep detailed records of everything related to your unemployment claim. Dates, amounts, conversations with Washington ESD, etc. You never know when you might need that information.

0 coins

Great advice. I'll start a spreadsheet to track everything.

0 coins

Smart move. Organization is key when dealing with any government benefits.

Hope this all works out for you OP. Unemployment can be stressful but at least Washington has decent benefits to help you get back on your feet.

0 coins

Thanks everyone! I'm feeling much better about the whole process now. Really appreciate all the help and advice.

0 coins

Good luck OP. Being fired doesn't automatically disqualify you from unemployment benefits. Focus on documenting your medical situation and being honest about what happened. The system isn't perfect but it does try to be fair in most cases.

Thanks for all the support everyone. This thread has been really helpful and given me hope that things might work out.

Keep us posted on how it goes! Rooting for you.

One last tip - if Washington ESD schedules a phone interview with you about your claim, make sure you're prepared with specific dates and details about your medical issues and any communication you had with your employer. Being organized and factual helps a lot.

0 coins

That's good advice. I should probably write down a timeline of what happened before I potentially get that call.

0 coins

LongPeri

Exactly. Having a clear timeline with dates and details will make you sound more credible and prepared during any interview.

honestly the whole unemployment system needs to be rebuilt from scratch. its 2025 and we're still dealing with technology from the 90s

0 coins

Agreed, but that doesn't help people who need benefits right now.

true just venting i guess

To directly answer your original question OP: if your claim is straightforward (layoff, clear employment history, no issues), expect 2-3 weeks from filing to first payment. If there are any complications, it could be 4-8 weeks or longer. The key is filing your weekly claims consistently and responding quickly to any requests for information.

0 coins

Thank you, that's exactly the timeline info I was looking for. Fingers crossed mine is straightforward!

Best of luck! Feel free to post here if you run into any issues.
