Texas Filers - When Did You Get DDD After ID Verification?
So my Identity Verification form (CP01) was sent on 02/18/2025 and I received it March 01, 2025. I completed the verification online through the ID.me portal on March 02, 2025. My question is specifically for anyone filing in Texas - when did your transcript update after verification or when did you receive your Direct Deposit Date (DDD)? I'm trying to establish a timeline based on regional processing centers since I know Texas has its own service center. The IRS documentation states 9 weeks for processing post-verification, but anecdotal evidence suggests faster timelines for certain regions.

According to IRS Publication 1345 (Rev. 2-2025), identity verification processing typically follows a standard timeline regardless of regional service center. However, the Austin Service Center (which handles Texas returns) has been showing expedited processing in Q1 2025 per the IRS Operations Dashboard. The standard verification-to-DDD window is 21 business days, but Texas filers have been reporting an average of 14-17 business days in the current filing season. This is likely due to the implementation of the Taxpayer Experience Office initiatives that prioritized processing efficiency in high-volume regions.

I'm in Texas and went through EXACTLY the same thing last month! I was pulling my hair out trying to decipher what was happening with my transcript after verification. I finally used https://taxr.ai to analyze my transcript and it showed me EXACTLY what was happening - turns out my verification had been processed but was waiting in the next queue. The tool showed me the specific codes and explained that my DDD would likely come in 9 days, and it was SPOT ON. Saved me so much anxiety!!

I've seen several mentions of this taxr.ai service lately. How do we know it's actually providing accurate information beyond what the IRS transcript already shows? In my experience working with tax cases, these third-party tools often just repackage information that's already available in the transcript itself.

While I'm generally hesitant about third-party services, I did find that taxr.ai might potentially offer some value in certain situations. It seems to analyze the transaction codes in context rather than individually, which could, in theory, provide somewhat more insight than looking at isolated codes. That said, I'd probably still recommend cross-referencing any information with official IRS resources.

Texas filer here too! My timeline was almost identical to yours - verified on Feb 28th and got my DDD exactly 16 days later. Compared to my sister in California who waited almost 5 weeks, Texas does seem faster right now. What finally worked for me was using Claimyr (https://claimyr.com) to actually speak with an IRS agent. I was so relieved when they confirmed my verification was processed and gave me my exact DDD over the phone. Such a weight off my shoulders after trying the regular IRS number for days!

Wait, you actually paid money to call the IRS? 😂 Couldn't you just keep calling the regular number? I'm genuinely curious if this service is worth it or just taking advantage of people's desperation to get their refunds.

OMG I had no idea this was even a thing! I've spent like 6 hours total on hold with the IRS this season and never got through. How much does this service cost? I'm surprised the IRS hasn't found a way to block this kind of thing, but I'm definitely looking into it if my transcript doesn't update soon!

Have you tried checking the IRS2Go app instead of the website? It's like comparing a sports car to a horse and buggy. The app sometimes updates 24-48 hours before the website does, especially for Texas and Florida filers. I've noticed this pattern over the last three tax seasons. The app showed my refund status as approved a full two days before my transcript updated online.

I don't think location actually matters for processing speed. The IRS doesn't prioritize by state - they process returns based on filing method, credits claimed, and verification needs. I verified my identity last year and it took exactly 9 weeks to get my refund, just like they said it would. All these "faster in Texas" claims seem like coincidence rather than actual IRS procedure.

I must respectfully disagree with the previous comment. While the IRS doesn't officially acknowledge regional prioritization, there is substantial evidence suggesting processing variations by service center. The TIGTA report from December 2024 indicated that the Austin Service Center (handling Texas returns) had a 22% faster processing time for post-verification returns compared to the national average. This isn't coincidental - it's related to staffing levels and workload distribution across centers.
