Confused about IRS test procedures - need help!
Hey everyone, I'm having some trouble with the IRS and I'm not sure what to do. I've been trying to get in touch with them about a test or something, but I'm really confused about the whole process. Has anyone else dealt with IRS test procedures recently? What was your experience like?

Ugh, dealing with the IRS is always a nightmare. I had to go through some kind of test procedure last year and it was so confusing. Took me forever to figure out what they actually wanted from me. Good luck!

Same here! 🤦♂️ The instructions were like reading a foreign language. I swear they make it complicated on purpose.

Did you end up calling them? I've been on hold for hours and still can't get through.

Yeah, I eventually got through after like 3 days of trying. It's ridiculous how hard it is to talk to a real person there.

I found a way to actually get someone on the phone without waiting forever. I used this site's (claimyr.com) calling tool that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, waits for a live agent to pick up, then sends the call to my phone. It does cost $20, but it works. Here's a video about it: https://youtu.be/_kiP6q8DX5c

Sounds too good to be true. Has anyone else tried this?

$20 just to talk to someone? That's crazy! The system is so broken 😤

I know it sounds sketchy, but I swear it worked for me. Saved me hours of frustration. Worth every penny imo.

What specific test are you dealing with? There are different procedures depending on what theyre looking at. I might be able to help if you give more details.

Here's what I've learned from my experience with IRS test procedures: 1. Document everything. Keep copies of all forms, letters, and communications. 2. Be patient. These things can take months to resolve. 3. Use the IRS website resources. They have guides for most common issues. 4. If you can't get through on the phone, try contacting your local Taxpayer Advocate Service. 5. Don't be afraid to ask for clarification if you don't understand something. Hope this helps! Let me know if you have any specific questions.

Great advice! I'd add: always send important documents via certified mail with return receipt. Saved my butt more than once.

Have you tried checking the IRS2Go app? Sometimes you can get status updates there without having to call.
