I'm also stuck in identity verification hell right now - going on week 3 with multiple rejections! This thread has been incredibly helpful though. I've been taking photos with my phone but hadn't thought about the PDF format or off-peak upload timing. The natural lighting tip from @Andre is brilliant too - I've been struggling with shadows and glare on my documents. It's honestly both frustrating and reassuring to see so many of us dealing with the exact same issues. Really shows how broken this system is when we all have to become verification experts just to get basic benefits we're entitled to. Going to try all these strategies tomorrow - PDFs, better lighting, off-peak hours, and maybe even that calling service if I get desperate enough. Thanks everyone for sharing your experiences and tips - knowing I'm not alone in this nightmare actually helps a lot! 💪
I'm in the exact same boat - week 2 of verification hell here! This whole thread has been such a lifesaver, seriously. I've been doing everything wrong apparently - phone photos, uploading during peak hours, JPEGs instead of PDFs. Going to completely revamp my approach based on all these tips. The fact that there are so many of us dealing with identical problems really drives home how fundamentally broken this system is. It's like they designed it to be as frustrating as possible! Really appreciate everyone sharing their strategies and experiences - makes me feel less crazy for struggling with this. Going to try the PDF + natural lighting + off-peak hours combo starting first thing tomorrow morning. Fingers crossed we all get through this nightmare soon! 🤞
I'm currently stuck in this verification nightmare too - been at it for about 3 weeks now and it's absolutely maddening! This thread has been more helpful than anything I've found on the official IDES website. I had no idea about the PDF format vs photos, or that upload timing could matter. Been taking blurry phone pics this whole time like an amateur 🤦♀️ Definitely going to try the natural lighting + PDF + off-peak hours combo that everyone's recommending. It's both infuriating and oddly comforting to see how many of us are dealing with the exact same issues - really shows this is a systemic problem, not user error. The fact that we have to become verification experts and crowdsource solutions just to access benefits we're entitled to is ridiculous. But I'm feeling more hopeful after reading all these success stories! Going to stay persistent and hopefully join the "finally verified" club soon. Thanks everyone for sharing your tips and experiences - this community support means everything! 💙

Anyone know if gig work (like Uber or DoorDash) affects unemployment eligibility? I've been doing some deliveries to make ends meet while job hunting.

•Ah ok, that makes sense. So I should still apply even tho I'm doing some gig work? And just report the earnings each week?

•Exactly! Always better to apply and be honest about your situation. They'll determine your eligibility and guide you on reporting.

Just went through this process myself! A few things to add that might help: For severance pay - the key thing is HOW it's structured. If your employer calls it "severance in lieu of notice," it might be treated differently than regular severance. Also, some states have a "severance deduction period" where they calculate how many weeks your lump sum would cover at your regular salary, and you can't claim benefits during that time. One thing that caught me off guard: if you worked in multiple states during your base period, you might need to file an interstate claim. It gets complicated but can sometimes work in your favor if one state has higher benefit rates. Also, keep ALL your documentation - pay stubs, termination letter, severance agreement, everything. The system might seem automated but there's a good chance you'll need to provide proof of your earnings at some point. Good luck with your claim! The process is frustrating but hang in there 💪

•This is super helpful, thank you! I had no idea about the "severance in lieu of notice" distinction. My termination letter does mention something about notice period - I'll need to read it more carefully. The interstate claim thing is interesting too, I did work remotely for a company in another state for part of last year. Definitely keeping all my paperwork organized now! 📁
